STAMFORD, Conn. – Jan. 7, 2019 – NBC Sports roars into 2019 with more than 50 hours of motorsports coverage this week, highlighted by nearly 30 hours of coverage of Mecum Auctions: Kissimmee – the world’s largest collector car auction – as well as Monster Energy Supercross action from Glendale, Ariz., on NBC and NBCSN, plus the start of the 2019 Dakar Rally.

MECUM AUCTIONS: KISSIMMEE

An estimated 3,500 vehicles will cross the auction block at Mecum Auctions’ Kissimmee event this week with the potential to exceed over $100 million in sales. Headliners at this year’s event include the only 1965 Ford GT Competition Prototype Roadster to race at Le Mans and Benny Parsons’ 1973 NASCAR Cup Champion car. NBC Sports will air live coverage from Kissimmee on NBCSN from 12-6 p.m. ET on Wednesday-Friday.

Scott Hoke will host coverage on-site in Kissimmee, alongside analysts John Kraman and Stephen Cox, and reporters Bill Stephens and Katie Osborne.

MONSTER ENERGY SUPERCROSS – GLENDALE

NBC Sports continues its inaugural season of Monster Energy Supercross coverage this weekend from State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz. The 2019 season began last weekend in Anaheim where Justin Barcia recorded his first Supercross 450 win in six years, and Colt Nichols notched his first career Supercross 250 win. NBC Sports will present live coverage of the main event on Saturday at 9 p.m. ET, and showcase an encore presentation on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. ET on NBC.

NBC Sports Gold – NBC Sports Digital’s direct-to-consumer live streaming product – presents comprehensive coverage of Supercross qualifiers and main event races live and without commercial interruption throughout the 2019 season. This weekend’s coverage on NBC Sports Gold begins Saturday at 3 p.m. ET with the first qualifying sessions.

Ralph Sheheen, five-time Supercross champion and seven-time Motocross champion Ricky Carmichael, host and former racer Daniel Blair, and reporter Will Christien will call the action.

DAKAR RALLY

NBC Sports begins its coverage of the 2019 Dakar Rally – the world’s most challenging off-road endurance race – today at 6 p.m. ET on NBCSN, as nearly 500 competitors traverse more than thousands of miles and various terrain. The entire event will be held in Peru, the first time in its history it will be contested in one country, and will challenge drivers in five different classes – bike, quad, car, side by side, and truck. Coverage begins today at 6:30 with Stage 1 from Lima to Pisco. Leigh Diffey will call the action. Following is the full Dakar Rally schedule on NBCSN – all telecasts are delayed.
