STAMFORD, Conn. – April 6, 2020 –NBC Sports will present the 12 most recent Stanley Cup Final clinching games on NBC throughout the month of April, beginning this weekend. Saturday will feature back-to-back Stanley Cup matchups between the Penguins and Red Wings in 2008 and 2009 at 3 p.m. ET. Chicago and Boston, two Original Six teams that snapped Stanley Cup droughts in 2010 and 2011, respectively, will headline Sunday’s doubleheader, starting at 1 p.m. ET on NBC.
This week, NBCSN will present Hockey Happy Hour Monday-Thursday from 5-7 p.m. ET that features four unsung playoff hero performances (Jaden Schwartz, Brock McGinn, Chris Kunitz, and Alec Martinez). On Wednesday at 6 p.m. ET, the day that the Stanley Cup Playoffs were originally scheduled to begin, NBCSN will premiere an hour-long special, NHL: Pause and Rewind, that looks back at the season with NBC Sports commentators and examines #HockeyAtHome during the league’s hiatus with exclusive player interviews.
NBCSN will also present a 30-minute program on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. ET, titled #HockeyAtHome: Episode 1 – NHL Brothers, co-hosted by Kathryn Tappen that features interviews with three sets of brothers in the NHL: Eric, Jordan, and Marc Staal, Brady and Matthew Tkachuk, and Quinn and Jack Hughes.
Programming will also stream on NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app.

MONDAY, APRIL 6
JETS-BLUES (2019 FIRST ROUND, GAME 6 – JADEN SCHWARTZ) AT 5 P.M. ET ON NBCSN
The Blues, en route to their 2019 Stanley Cup victory, jumped out to a 3-0 advantage in the third period over the Jets in Game 6 behind a hat trick from Jaden Schwartz. Winnipeg rallied back to get within a goal with under a minute remaining, but St. Louis held on to advance to the Second Round. Schwartz led the Blues in goals (12) in the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs after only scoring 11 in the entire regular season.
An interview by Liam McHugh with Blues head coach Craig Berube looking back at the team’s Stanley Cup victory will also be featured.
Brendan Burke (play-by-play) and Ray Ferraro (analyst) called the matchup from Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Mo.
TUESDAY, APRIL 7
HURRICANES-CAPITALS (2019 FIRST ROUND, GAME 7 – BROCK MCGINN) AT 5 P.M. ET ON NBCSN
The Hurricanes battled the defending Stanley Cup champion Capitals to a Game 7 in the First Round of the 2019 Playoffs. In Game 7 in Washington, Carolina rallied from two separate two-goal deficits to force overtime. In the second overtime period, Brock McGinn netted the winning goal that ended the third longest Game 7 in NHL history.
Seven-time Emmy Award-winner Mike ‘Doc’ Emrick, U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame member Eddie Olczyk and ‘Inside-the-Glass’ analyst Pierre McGuire had the call of Game 7 from Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.
#HOCKEYATHOME: EPISODE 1 – NHL BROTHERS AT 6:30 P.M. ET ON NBCSN
Kathryn Tappen and Sportsnet host David Amber will co-host a 30-minute program about brothers in the NHL that will be presented on NBCSN at 6:30 p.m. ET. The three sets of brothers interviewed and featured in the program are:
- The Staals (Eric, Jordan, and Marc)
- The Tkachuks (Brady and Matthew)
- The Hughes (Quinn and Jack)
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 8
SENATORS-PENGUINS (2017 EASTERN CONFERENCE FINAL, GAME 7 – CHRIS KUNITZ) AT 5 P.M. ET ON NBCSN
Chris Kunitz opened the scoring in the second period of Game 7, his first goal in over three months. After regulation, tied at two goals apiece, Kunitz recorded his third point, and second goal of the game, in double overtime to send the Penguins to the Stanley Cup Finals for the second straight year.
Albert, Olczyk, and McGuire called the matchup from PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pa.
NHL: PAUSE AND REWIND AT 6 P.M. ET ON NBCSN
The premiere of a one-hour special, NHL: Pause and Rewind, will take a look back at this past NHL season as well as how players are spending their time off in the current league hiatus. Highlighted segments will include a look at the current top five teams in each conference, reflecting on the season’s milestones, including Alex Ovechkin’s historic 700 goal accomplishment, as well as revisiting the Blues’ improbable Stanley Cup victory last season.
NBC Sports commentators conducting player interviews and sharing #HockeyAtHome social content will also be featured throughout the program.
THURSDAY, APRIL 9
RANGERS-KINGS (2014 STANLEY CUP FINAL, GAME 5 – ALEC MARTINEZ) AT 6 P.M. ET ON NBCSN
In a role similar to one he played in the 2014 Western Conference Final victory over the Blackhawks, Alec Martinez of the Kings played hero for Los Angeles in Game 5 of the Cup Final, scoring the game-winner in double overtime to defeat the Rangers 3-2 and clinch the Cup.
Emrick, Olczyk, and McGuire called the Stanley Cup action from STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, Calif.
SATURDAY, APRIL 11
RED WINGS-PENGUINS (2008 STANLEY CUP FINAL, GAME 6) AT 3 P.M. ET ON NBC
Detroit, seeking its 4th Stanley Cup in 12 years, led 3-1, following a third goal that Penguins goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury inadvertently knocked into his own goal while trying to cover the puck up. Pittsburgh cut the deficit to one late in the third period, and threatened in the closing seconds, but the Red Wings held on to clinch the Cup.
Emrick, Olczyk, and McGuire called the matchup from Civic Arena in Pittsburgh, Pa.
PENGUINS-RED WINGS (2009 STANLEY CUP FINAL, GAME 7) AT 4:30 P.M. ET ON NBC
In a rematch of the 2008 Stanley Cup Final, the Penguins and Red Wings dueled to a Game 7 in 2009. Pittsburgh jumped out to a 2-0 advantage in Game 7 behind two goals from Maxime Talbot and didn’t look back, holding on for a 2-1 win capped by Fleury’s last-second dramatic save.
Emrick, Olczyk, and McGuire called the matchup from Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Mich.
SUNDAY, APRIL 12
BLACKHAWKS-FLYERS (2010 STANLEY CUP FINAL, GAME 6) AT 1 P.M. ET ON NBC
In a 4-3 overtime thriller, Patrick Kane netted the Cup-winning extra period goal to propel Chicago to their first Stanley Cup win since 1961. With the victory, the Blackhawks ended the league’s longest active Stanley Cup drought and began their run of three Stanley Cups (2010, 2013, 2015) in six years.
Emrick, Olczyk, and McGuire called the Stanley Cup Final action from Wachovia Center in Philadelphia, Pa.
BRUINS-CANUCKS (2011 STANLEY CUP FINAL, GAME 7) AT 2:30 P.M. ET ON NBC
In the Bruins’ first-ever Game 7 of a Stanley Cup Final, Boston was victorious 4-0 over Vancouver to capture their first Cup since 1972. Goaltender, and Conn Smythe Trophy winner, Tim Thomas recorded 37 saves and Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand each scored two goals for the Bruins.
Emrick, Olczyk, and McGuire called the Game 7 matchup from Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia.
