NBC Sports’ college football coverage this Saturday:
7:30 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock: Purdue at No. 2 Michigan
Michigan topped Michigan State, 49-0, two weeks ago to remain undefeated as McCarthy threw for 287 yards and four touchdowns. McCarthy ranks second in the Big Ten in touchdown passes (18) and third in passing yards (1,799), while running back Blake Corum is tied for the lead in the nation with 13 rushing touchdowns. The Wolverines rank first in the nation in scoring defense (5.88 points per game) and are the only defense in the country holding opponents to less than 10 points per game.
Purdue looks to rebound from a 31-14 loss to Nebraska last week. Boilermakers quarterback Hudson Card is fourth in the Big Ten with 1,717 passing yards this season.
Purdue-Michigan will be called from Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, Mich., by NBC Sports’ B1G Saturday Night team of Noah Eagle (play-by-play), Todd Blackledge (analyst), and Kathryn Tappen (sidelines). Terry McAulay serves as the rules analyst.
2023-24 Big Ten Basketball: Purdue men’s and women’s basketball will appear on Peacock eight times this season, including six times for the Boilermakers’ men’s team featuring reigning National Player of the Year Zach Edey. Peacock will present six Michigan men’s and women’s basketball games in 2023-24.
3:30 p.m. ET on Peacock: Iowa at Northwestern
Coming off a bye, Iowa, who leads the Big Ten West division, fell to Minnesota, 12-10, in their most recent game on Oct. 21. The Hawkeyes’ defense ranks sixth nationally in scoring defense (14.5).
Northwestern beat Maryland, 33-27, last weekend to even its record at 4-4 behind quarterback Brendan Sullivan’s 265 passing yards and two touchdowns.
Saturday’s game will be played from Wrigley Field, home of the Chicago Cubs, as part of Northwestern’s Wildcats Classic series. Northwestern has played at Wrigley Field twice, hosting Purdue in 2021 and Illinois in 2010. The 2010 game marked the ballpark’s first time hosting a college football game since 1938.
Iowa-Northwestern will be called by Paul Burmeister (play-by-play), who played quarterback at Iowa and was offensive captain and MVP of the 1993 Hawkeyes, two-time Pro Bowl tight end Kyle Rudolph (analyst), and Zora Stephenson (sidelines).
