Apparently someone needs to sit Patrick Bamford down and explain the meaning of the word “context” to the kid.
The 22-year-old Chelsea striker has apologized for comments he says were taken “out of context” regarding his ending of a loan stint at Crystal Palace. Those comments -- after a disappointing draw where he missed a point-blank opportunity -- are here, and seem pretty straight-forward, from the BBC:
The only way his quotes are out of context are if the question was, “We know you’re not unhappy, but how would a player sum up their time at Crystal Palace if in fact you were unhappy?”

Bamford’s loan deal was considered a coup for Palace and the next step in development for a player who scored 17 goals in the Championship on loan for Middlesbrough last season.
Now we learn that he has another goal in addition to finding his on-field form in the Premier League; Either keeping his mouth shut or owning up to a fairly-honest and understandable assessment of a difficult half-season. Nothing wrong with either.
