Both managers confirmed and the English FA has also said an investigation will begin regarding allegations by Norwich striker Cameron Jero that he was racially abused by Leeds defender Giuseppe Bellusci.
The two sides drew 1-1 this past weekend but the match was marred when referee Mark Clattenburg briefly halted the game to speak with both managers partly through the first half.
“Cameron Jerome has alleged he was the subject of a racist remark,” said Norwich manager Neil Adams directly after the match. “Because of that Mark Clattenburg, who I felt handled the incident very well, came over to the touchline to explain to [Leeds manager] Darko [Milanic] and myself what I have just told you.
"[Clattenburg] spoke to the players at half-time with a representative from each club and statements have been made now.”
At the time, Bellusci was not penalized for the incident, although Jerome was booked minutes later for a crunching tackle on the Italian defender.
“Mark will submit a report to the relevant authorities and it will be dealt with from there,” Adams said. “He didn’t take any action at the time. He merely relayed what Cameron had said. It must now go through the proper channels. Bellusci is the player who has been alleged to have made the remark.”
New Leeds manager Darko Milanic will be tested early in his position, having just taken over the job in late September. He didn’t add anything new postmatch, just saying he couldn’t comment because an investigation was about to begin.
Cameron Jerome took to Twitter to discuss what happened in a professional manner, telling fans to be patient as the truth will eventually be revealed.
The FA confirmed to the BBC that an investigation has begun and the matter will be addressed.
