That man Freddy Adu could be coming to a stadium near you.
According to a report from the Washington Post, Adu is weighing up two offers from MLS clubs to tryout with them after his stuttering career continues to stall overseas.

Since leaving the Philadelphia Union in 2012 Adu hasn’t started a league game in spells with Brazilian side Bahia and Jagodina in Serbia before leaving the latter in December. Adu has been without a club since.
The man who burst onto the scene as a professional player with D.C. United at the age of 14 in MLS and was meant to be the next big thing in world soccer has had unsuccessful trials at Blackpool, Stabaek and AZ Alkmaar in recent months and is currently training close to his Washington D.C. home as he waits for more offers.
The report in the Washington Post claims that none of Adu’s former MLS clubs (D.C. United, Real Salt Lake and the Philadelphia Union) are interested in taking Adu. It is unclear whether or not Adu would have to go through the rigorous allocation order as a U.S. national team player.
Adu, still just 25, hasn’t played for the USMNT since 2011 so it is conceivable that the former Benfica and Monaco player could be signed right away be any interested club on a free transfer. When he left the Union in 2012, Adu’s salary with guaranteed compensation was listed as $519,000. Right now, following his struggles overseas, he’d be lucky to pick up a quarter of that.
