How’s Freddy Adu doing in Finland? Watch this every-touch video to find out

Freddy Adu, KuPS

What a time to be alive, right? Over the weekend, some kind soul in this loving world of ours took it upon themselves to create an every-touch video (above video) of Freddy Adu’s latest outing for Kuopion Palloseura (KuPS), his new team in the Finnish first division.

Again, I say, what a time to be alive.

What do you make of Adu’s second appearance for KuPS, a 72-minute performance in his side’s 1-0 victory over Vaasan Palloseura? I see an energetic midfielder being played as a No. 10, whose work rate is higher than perhaps it’s ever been in his career, with a willingness to drop deep into midfield and provide an outlet through which his team can play. He wasn’t 100 percent sharp, but he looked far better than his final days in Philadelphia two years ago.

As always, it’s important to remember the competition against which Adu is competing. It’s a long, long way back into, say, the U.S. national team picture, but as I said earlier this month, it’s nice to see him actually playing and enjoying his soccer.
