A twin pair of juicy transfer “reports” hit the web on Monday, with a high-flying striker slated for the Premier League while one of its best defensive players would be headed to La Liga’s legendary Blaugranas.
Our friends at Soccerly have the former report, as Arsenal would apparently be willing to drop $90 million to pry Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani away from Paris Saint-Germain.
It would actually not qualify as a profit for the French club, as Cavani joined the French club for around $92 million last year. His goal total is down from 38 to 25 since moving from Napoli, but Cavani has been forced away from his primary choice, central striker, in favor of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Wenger hasn’t been shy of praising Cavani. From Soccerly:
Meanwhile, according to Agencia, Chelsea hybrid defender David Luiz could be bringing his talent to the Camp Nou. The reports claim the Brazilian has agreed to a five-year deal that would come with a post-World Cup transfer fee worth approximately $35 million.
