The draw for the next round will be conducted on Friday, with the quarters to be contested on April 14-15 and 21-22.
No teams are seeded at this stage of the competition, and teams from the same nation can be drawn together. So what are the dream draws?
Well, there are two ways to look at it, really. There’s getting juicy intra-national matches in the quarters, and hoping to see them in the quarters. We’ll give you examples of both.
Dream draw No. 1: All in the country
Real Madrid vs. Atletico Madrid
Paris Saint-Germain vs. AS Monaco
Barcelona vs. Bayern Munich
Porto vs. Juventus
In the above scenario, you’d get a rematch of the UEFA Champions League final, a battle of Ligue 1’s nouveau riche, and Pep Guardiola going up against his old charges.

Dream draw No. 2: No intra-nationals
Barcelona vs. Bayern Munich
Real Madrid vs. Porto
Juventus vs. AS Monaco
Paris Saint-Germain vs. Atletico Madrid
In this one, we still see Pep v. Messi, but also get Portugal’s hero against its lone remaining team, and Diego Simeone vs. Zlatan Ibrahimovic (should his red be rescinded).
Dream draw No. 3: Group rematches
Barcelona vs. Paris Saint-Germain*
Atletico Madrid vs. Juventus*
AS Monaco vs. Porto
Real Madrid vs. Bayern Munich
And a fun fact: both Group A and Group F (*starred) saw both of its advancing club make it through the Round of 16.
