VIDEO: Vardy could get extra ban after appearing to swear at ref

Jamie Vardy gets into the referee's face after he is handed a second yellow card and sent off for what the ref deemed to be a dive in Leicester City's match with West Ham United.

The eagle-eyed among you may have spotted Jamie Vardy’s rant after being sent off on Sunday in Leicester City’s 2-2 draw against West Ham United.

Whether or not Vardy swore is up in the air, but it is alleged Vardy called referee Jon Moss a “F****** C***" after being red carded.

Leicester went down to 10-men with over 30 minutes to go. Vardy’s first half goal had given them the lead but after he was sent off the league leaders struggled badly and went 2-1 down after Andy Carroll’s penalty kick and Aaron Cresswell’s screamer.

Leonardo Ulloa’s late penalty kick -- many would say Moss was equaling things up -- saw the Foxes snatch a point as they remain top with an eight-point lead over Tottenham.

From the video above you can see Vardy react angrily at Moss. He points in his face and screams something at him. It doesn’t take lip-reading experts to see he drops the F-bomb to start with.

Now what happens? Well, Vardy was already sent off for a second yellow card and he will not be able to appeal that suspension so he will definitely miss Leicester’s clash with Swansea City next Sunday.

However, here’s where it gets interesting.

If Moss includes Vardy’s comments in his match report then he could face a further ban on charges of improper conduct or failing to leave the field of play after being dismissed. That could see Vardy miss Leicester’s remaining games of the season as the PL’s join-top goalscorer looks to get over the line. Vardy’s apparent expletive-laden rant happened after he was sent off so Moss couldn’t act on it. It all hinges on whether Moss includes it in his report and recommends further action. Let’s face it, after getting sent off plenty of players have sworn at officials and unfortunately it is not uncommon.

Leicester City’s manager Claudio Ranieri said he didn’t see any of this in his post-game reaction, so it is all down to Moss’ verdict.

After the way the referee was berated by Leicester’s home fans in the second half, what could we see him doing? Hmmm.

We haven’t heard the last of this.
