Striking images from the Hillsborough 96 memorial service

Liverpool FC’s web site is live streaming the 25th anniversary memorial to those who died in the Hillsborough disaster in 1989. Reds manager Brendan Rodgers and Everton boss Roberto Martinez are expected to be among the speakers at the tribute.

Some of the memorial was streamed live and will available HERE on Liverpool’s site later today.

There have been some striking images Tweeted out from Anfield. Here are some, including one of the features of the memorial, the “Band of Life” sculpture that features the each of the victims of the tragedy with a light next to their names:
