West Ham manager Slaven Bilic confirmed the extent of the Ghanaian international’s injury during a press conference on Wednesday. The initial hope was that Ayew would be out for just a few days, thus missing the Hammers’ Europa League qualifier against Astra Giurgiu (Thursday) and perhaps one league game, but it’ll be a matter of weeks, not days — quotes from Essex Live:“We will wait to get the results on Andre Ayew and hopefully it is not that bad. It will be weeks and not days unfortunately.
“Hopefully only a few weeks.”
