Vaughn Dalzell shares his best bets in the play-in game for the No. 8 seed between the Chicago Bulls and Miami Heat.

Bulls at Heat (-5.5): O/U 208.5

This spread opened at Miami -4 and was bet up to -5.5, much like the Raptors spread against the Bulls.

Chicago won all three meetings during the regular season by 8, 10 and 14 points, including two of those coming in Miami.

The Bulls lost all four games getting swept by the Heat in 2021-22, so I see the Bulls returning the favor in 2022-23.

Miami did not look good from the start to finish against Atlanta, a team they usually own. Despite Miami’s defense holding Atlanta to 24.2% from three, the Heat were out-rebounded 63-39 and out-scored in the paint, 64-49.

Chicago out-scored Toronto, 52-40 in the paint and only hit 26.9% from three. They can follow the same recipe Atlanta laid out for them or the one that led the Bulls to 3-0 season sweep over the Heat.

Miami beat writers also made a good point that if Miami makes the playoffs, the best draft pick the Heat will get is 20th compared to 14th (lottery) if Miami loses to Chicago. Not saying the Heat will tank, but the front office knows this season is lost and a series versus the Bucks is a waste of time.

I played Chicago +5.5 (-110) and sprinkled the ML (+185). The Bulls are never out of a game.

Pick: Bulls +5.5 (1u), Bulls ML (0.25u)
