Mariners general manager Justin Hollander said Luke Raley (forearm) is likely to miss the rest of the season.

It’s a tough break after Raley hit the injured list with a forearm strain over the weekend. The 31-year-old finishes the year hitting .225/.284/.439 with 15 homers in 287 plate appearances across 95 games.

The Rockies are closing in on a two-year contract extension with Mickey Moniak, according to MLB.com’s Thomas Harding.

Moniak missed time at the start of the year with a finger injury, but has still delivered top-50 range fantasy value among outfielder this season, hitting .273/.317/.547 with 17 homers, 47 RBI and one steal in 278 plate appearances across 74 games. The 28-year-old has emerged as a middle-of-the-order run-producer for Colorado and makes a ton of sense as a stabilizing presence as they continue searching for their next foundational pieces. The new agreement will buy out his final arbitration-eligible season in addition to one year of free agency.

Dodgers optioned RHP Emmet Sheehan to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

The Dodgers sent shockwaves through baseball by acquiring back-to-back AL Cy Young Award winner Tarik Skubal from the Tigers over the weekend. It’ll be Sheehan who loses his spot in the club’s rotation as a result. The 26-year-old was a trendy target in fantasy drafts this spring, but struggled mightily to a bloated 5.29 RA across 95 1/3 innings this season. He could potentially make it back to Los Angeles as a reliever for their upcoming postseason run. However, he can be safely dropped in all fantasy leagues.

Dodgers placed C Dalton Rushing on the 10-day injured list with right elbow inflammation.

No surprise after Rushing was scratched from Sunday’s series finale against the Red Sox. It certainly explains why the Dodgers went out and acquired both Ben Rortvedt and Hunter Feduccia at the trade deadline. They’ll need to cobble things together behind the plate until Will Smith (neck) is ready to return in a couple weeks.
