The Reds have signed first round pick Drew Stubbs.
Stubbs promised the team he would sign quick and he did. The Reds will reportedly give the former University of Texas star outfielder a $2 million signing bonus.

Chase DeLauter is back in the lineup for Monday’s series opener against the Astros.
DeLauter has cooled off considerably over the past few weeks, hitting .163 (7-for-43) with zero homers in 13 games after launching five homers in his first seven games to open the season. The encouraging part here is that he’s walked nine times with only four strikeouts during that span. Some turbulence isn’t unexpected for a hitter getting their first taste of the big leagues, which is why fantasy managers need to stick with DeLauter, even if he’s going to take a seat against a few lefties later this week.
Pick up Keller off waiver wire with Duran out
Eric Samulski dives into how the Phillies will approach replacing closer Jhoan Duran while on the 15-day IL with an oblique strain, pointing out Brad Keller is most likely to take his place.
  • HOU Relief Pitcher #68
Astros sent RHP J.P. France outright to Triple-A Sugar Land.
France passed through waivers unclaimed and will remain with Houston as organizational relief depth. The 31-year-old former starter allowed six runs over 6 2/3 innings across three relief appearances earlier this month. He was removed from Houston’s 40-man roster over the weekend.
  • BAL Relief Pitcher
Orioles sent LHP Jayvien Sandridge outright to Triple-A Norfolk.
Sandridge cleared waivers after being designated for assignment last week. The 27-year-old lefty hasn’t pitched in the big leagues this season after making one relief outing for the Yankees last year. He’s merely organizational depth at this stage of his career.
  • HOU Right Fielder #11
Cam Smith is not in the lineup for the Astros on Monday against the Guardians.
This is a routine day off for Smith, who has gone 3-for-22 over his last seven games. However, even over that stretch, he has a 4/4 K/BB ratio, a 45 percent hard hit rate, and four barrels. His .136 batting average over that last week is a far cry from his .293 xBA. While expected stats are not perfect, Smith continues to make plenty of hard contact this season, with massive improvements in bat speed and better plate discipline. We’d imagine a hot stretch is coming again. In the meantime, Taylor Trammell will continue to start in center field, Dustin Harris will play right field against a right-handed pitcher, and Brice Matthews will start in left field.
  • MIA Shortstop #24
Marlins activated SS Maximo Acosta from the 10-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Jacksonville.
Acosta went on the injured list with an oblique strain on March 25th, the same day as Kyle Stowers. He returned to action one day after Stowers, but he will begin his season in the minor leagues.
  • WSH Relief Pitcher #65
Nationals recalled RHP Julian Fernández from Triple-A Rochester
Fernández has allowed four runs on six hits in 7 2/3 innings at Triple-A this season with an 8/5 K/BB ratio. He will function as middle relief depth for the time being.
  • MIA Left Fielder #28
Kyle Stowers is starting in left field and batting second against the Cardinals on Monday.
Stowers made his season debut on Sunday and immediately got hit in the wrist with a 102 mph fastball. He was able to stay in the game and is right back out there on Monday, so fantasy managers and Marlins fans can breathe a sigh of relief. It’s a bit odd to see him hitting second with Xavier Edwards batting cleanup, but perhaps the Marlins are focused on getting Stowers as many at-bats as possible. If this does stick, it would meaningfully hurt Stowers’ potential RBI numbers this season.
  • TB Middle Reliever
Rays selected the contract of RHP Trevor Martin from Triple-A Durham.
The Rays needed a reliever with Mason Englert (forearm) on the IL, so Martin was added to the 40-man roster, and Michael Grove was transferred to the 60-day injured list. Martin has thrown 9 1/3 scoreless innings at Triple-A this season with an 11/6 K/BB ratio.
  • TB Relief Pitcher #59
Rays placed RHP Mason Englert on the 15-day injured list with right forearm tightness.
Englert has allowed 10 earned runs on 19 hits in 12 2/3 innings this season for the Rays. There is no word yet on the severity of the injury, but right forearm tightness can often be a precursor to other, more serious injuries.
  • HOU Shortstop #89
Astros selected the contract of SS Braden Shewmake from Triple-A Sugar Land.
Shewmake was just acquired from the Yankees on Sunday, and he will now be up with the Astros with Nick Allen (back) on the injured list. Shewmake will serve as a reserve infielder with Carlos Correa regularly starting at shortstop and Isaac Paredes at third base.
