Giants invited RHP Victor Santos, RHP Keiichi Yabu, RHP Bartolome Fortunato, C Steve Holm, C Pablo Sandoval, C Jackson Williams, INF Brian Bocock, INF Emmanuel Burriss, 1B Brett Harper, 3B Justin Leone, 1B Scott McClain, INF Ivan Ochoa, OF Ben Copeland, OF Brian Horwitz and OF Mike McBryde to spring training.
Santos is the best bet of the group to break camp with the Giants, but there isn’t much upside there. Leone is probably the organization’s best option at third base at the moment, but it’s been four years since his last opportunity. Harper, a former Mets prospect, would be a deep sleeper at first if the Giants fail to upgrade.

Miles Mikolas allowed two runs (one earned) in 3 1/3 innings and got a no-decision in the Nationals’ 10-4 victory over the Reds on Tuesday.
Bolte a volatile prospect for Athletics outfield
Eric Samulski explains Henry Bolte's outlook in the MLB with the Athletics calling up the outfielder prospect from the minors.
  • BAL 2nd Baseman #7
Jackson Holliday (hand) went 0-for-4 on Tuesday in a minor league rehab game for Triple-A Norfolk.
Holliday played six innings at third base in his fourth contest since restarting a minor league rehab assignment last week. The 22-year-old struck out twice in this one and has gone hitless in 10 at-bats over those four games. Not great. He’s been out all season working his way back from surgery to repair a hamate fracture in his right wrist.
  • BAL Left Fielder #13
Heston Kjerstad (hamstring) went 2-for-4 with a double on Tuesday in a minor league rehab game for Triple-A Norfolk.
Kjerstad will presumably get a chance to join Baltimore’s outfield mix at some point later this month. He’s eligible to return from the 60-day injured list next week. The 27-year-old former top prospect has been on the shelf recovering from a hamstring strain since spring training.
  • BAL Right Fielder #9
Tyler O’Neill went 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI against the Yankees on Tuesday.
O’Neill showed some signs of life with an RBI double off Will Warren in the sixth inning, though it came on a ball Yankees outfielder Trent Grisham ultimately could’ve caught. It was just O’Neill’s second extra-base hit this season in 60 at-bats. The Orioles signed him through the 2027 season, so O’Neill will be given some kind of leash, but he could be phased out if he doesn’t start hitting soon.
  • CWS Catcher #8
Kyle Teel (hamstring) walloped a two-run homer on Tuesday in a minor league rehab game for Triple-A Charlotte.
Teel played five innings at catcher and finished 1-for-4 at the plate in his first rehab contest. The 24-year-old backstop will need a handful of additional games to get back up to speed following a lengthy layoff after suffering a hamstring injury during the World Baseball Classic back in March. He figures to be ready to make his season debut by the end of May.
  • NYY Center Fielder #12
Trent Grisham went 1-for-3 with a walk and a three-run home run against the Orioles on Tuesday.
Grisham’s home run was his sixth of the season. He hit a three-run shot off Trevor Rogers in the third inning to put the Yankees up 6-0. Grisham is still hitting a paltry .178, but is solid in the other categories with 25 runs scored and 26 RBI.
  • TEX Right Fielder #24
Brandon Nimmo made an early exit from Tuesday’s game against the Diamondbacks with an apparent left ankle injury.
Nimmo came up limping after rolling his ankle while beating out an infield single in the sixth inning. He managed to stay in the contest initially before being lifted for a pinch-runner a couple batters later. He was 3-for-4 with a run scored prior to departing. He’ll undergo further evaluation to determine the severity of the issue. There should be an update on his status following the contest.
  • NYY 1st Baseman #48
Paul Goldschmidt went 2-for-4 with a walk and a solo home run against the Orioles on Tuesday.
Goldschmidt hit his fourth home run of season in the first inning against Trevor Rogers. The 38-year-old first baseman is excelling in a platoon role as three of his four home runs have come against left-handed pitching. He should see more at-bats against right-handed pitching with Giancarlo Stanton out as long as he continues producing. Goldschmidt has a pulse in AL-Only leagues now.
  • HOU Relief Pitcher #71
Josh Hader (biceps) fired a scoreless inning on Tuesday in a minor league rehab appearance for Double-A Corpus Christi.
There’s no Statcast date from this latest appearance, but Hader notched one strikeout and threw 11 of 16 pitches for strikes. The 32-year-old elite stopper appears to be inching closer to returning to Houston’s bullpen but is probably going to need another couple rehab outings.
  • PHI Starting Pitcher #45
Zack Wheeler pitched 7 1/3 innings of one-run ball, striking out four, to get the victory as the Phillies edged the Red Sox 2-1 on Tuesday.
Wheeler caught quite a break in the seventh, as Wilyer Abreu’s blast to left was caught just in front of the 380-foot mark at Fenway Park. It would have been a homer in 29 parks, says Statcast. Wheeler’s first few innings tonight were truly remarkable; aided by a pair of double plays, he threw only six pitches in the first, six in the second and four in the third. He came in at 87 pitches in all, and though he allowed 11 hard-hit balls, he didn’t give up any extra-base hits. He’s 2-0 with a 2.55 ERA after four starts, and he’s due to face the Pirates in a matchup against Paul Skenes on Sunday.
