Phillies recalled RHP Erich Uelman from Triple-A Lehigh Valley and placed him on the 60-day injured list with a right flexor strain.
The move was done procedurally as a way for the Phillies to free up a spot on their 40-man roster for Michael Plassmeyer to start the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader against the Mets. There’s no word on how long Uelman will be sidelined for with his right flexor strain.

Nasim Nuñez is not in the Nationals’ starting lineup for Friday night’s showdown against the Orioles.
It appears to be a routine night off for the speedy infielder, though he’s hitting just .202/.310/.226 through his first 149 plate appearances on the season so this could start to become a regular occurrence. Jorbit Vivas will start in his place at second base and bat seventh for the Nationals against Shane Baz and the O’s.
What has made Bleday so successful lately?
Eric Samulski discusses how Cincinnati Reds' J.J. Bleday has been "one of the hottest hitters in baseball" recently, going over key statistics that speak to his success and why fantasy managers should look out for him.
  • MIN Center Fielder #25
Byron Buxton is not in Minnesota’s starting lineup on Friday against the Brewers.
Not good, to say the least. It’s the second game in a row Buxton has missed. We haven’t seen a real update about him just yet, but we’re sure the Twins will say something in the coming hours.
  • DET Relief Pitcher #57
Tigers optioned RHP Ricky Vanasco to Triple-A Toledo.
Surely that’s not Ricky Nolasco, you’d think. And you’d be right. He doesn’t spell his name like Nolasco at all. Vanasco had a 14.54 ERA in 4 1/3 innings for the Tigers over four appearances. The 27-year-old figures to be back at some point with another chance as a fresh arm later this year due to his great work with the Mud Hens.
  • DET Relief Pitcher #43
Tigers activated RHP Connor Seabold from the 15-day injured list.
He’ll be back in Detroit’s bullpen mix after missing a few weeks with an ankle injury. Seabold isn’t high enough in the pecking order to be a major player in holds or saves leagues, but he had pitched to a 4.09 ERA in 11 innings (eight appearances) in April before the injury.
  • MIA Right Fielder #17
Owen Caissie is not in Miami’s starting lineup for Friday’s game against the Rays.
With LHP Ian Seymour reportedly opening, the Marlins have decided it’s time for a classic Christopher Morel #RevengeGame. Caissie is hitting .156/.237/.250 in his last 13 games with just one homer and stolen base apiece.
  • PHI Right Fielder #53
Adolis García is not in Philadelphia’s starting lineup against the Pirates on Friday.
Edmundo Sosa is taking a turn in left field, with Brandon Marsh shifting to right to cover for García. García is hitless in his last four games with eight strikeouts, lowering his season line to .222/.286/.348 in 175 plate appearances. He looks no better than he has in either of the last two years with the Rangers.
  • BOS Shortstop #10
Trevor Story is not in Boston’s starting lineup for Friday’s game against the Braves.
Hitting .206/.244/.303 despite 41 games played with just three homers and four steals, it makes sense to plead caution on dropping Story in fantasy because he had a similarly poor stretch to start last season. Shortstop also hasn’t had many non-obvious pickups waiting in the wings to displace him this year. Perhaps a day off will help him get right — playing everyday certainly hasn’t yet.
  • MIL Relief Pitcher
Brewers optioned LHP Brian Fitzpatrick to Triple-A Nashville.
The Brew Crew needed the spot for tonight’s starter, Coleman Crow, but Fitzpatrick should be back in due time after posting a 1.59 ERA in his four major league appearances this season.
  • MIL Starting Pitcher #57
Brewers recalled RHP Coleman Crow from Triple-A Nashville.
He’ll start tonight against the Twins. Crow allowed two earned runs in 5 1/3 innings against the Marlins earlier this year in his MLB debut and the 25-year-old makes a decent stream against the Twins.
  • PIT 3rd Baseman #3
Nick Gonzales is not in Pittsburgh’s starting lineup for Friday’s game against the Phillies.
It’s the second-straight absence for Gonzales, who appears to be losing out to Jared Triolo of late. He’s hit .315/.380/.364 in 36 games started, including .333/.393/.382 against right-handers, so we’re a little surprised the Pirates have pulled back on him even if he’s no power hitter.
