  • DET Center Fielder #26
Tigers claimed OF TJ Hopkins off waivers from the Giants.
Hopkins, 27, made his major league debut for the Reds last season, going 7-for-41 with no extra-base hits. It’s possible he’d be of use as a part-timer against lefties, but that’s probably his ceiling. He’ll probably have to beat out Akil Baddoo for a roster spot in order to make the team.
  • NYY Center Fielder #89
Yankees OF prospect Jasson Domínguez (elbow) went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer and also stole a base on Friday in a minor league rehab game for Double-A Somerset.
Domínguez has been sizzling-hot at the plate on his rehab assignment with a stratospheric .977 OPS in 12 games between Low-A Tampa and Double-A Somerset. He’s homered three times in his last five contests. It’s unclear how the Yankees plan to proceed once the 21-year-old center fielder is ready to return to New York, but it’s looking like he’s going to force his way into their immediate plans if he keeps tearing the cover off the ball in the minors.
  • SF Right Fielder #8
Michael Conforto (hamstring) went 1-for-3 on Friday in a minor league rehab game for Triple-A Sacramento.
Conforto kicked off his rehab assignment by getting in a couple frames in left field as he works his way back from a right hamstring strain. The 31-year-old veteran was off to a strong start at the dish, with encouraging Statcast batted ball metrics to back it up, which should make him a relevant option for fantasy managers once he returns.
  • LAD Center Fielder #33
James Outman went 4-for-6 with a three-run homer and four RBI on Friday for Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Outman was demoted to the minors a couple weeks ago after posting a disastrous .516 OPS with three homers and two steals in 36 games for Los Angeles, but he appears to be finding his groove at the dish again. The 27-year-old’s four-hit performance gives him a 1.245 OPS with three homers and four steals in just 10 games for Triple-A Oklahoma City. There isn’t exactly a path to at-bats with the Dodgers at the moment, but he figures to get another shot at some point later this season.
  • STL Relief Pitcher #65
Giovanny Gallegos (shoulder) tossed a perfect inning on Friday in a minor league rehab appearance for Triple-A Memphis.
Gallegos has been out since early May due to a right shoulder impingement, but appears to be getting close to returning to St. Louis. The 32-year-old veteran reliever struggled in 13 appearances to open the season and can be safely ignored in all fantasy formats.
  • TB Right Fielder #15
Josh Lowe (oblique) went 2-for-4 with a run scored on Friday for Triple-A Durham.
There’s some buzz that Lowe will be ready to return to Tampa Bay early next week, but he’s going to get in at least a couple additional rehab contests this weekend for Triple-A Durham. The 26-year-old fantasy stalwart has been out since late May recovering from a mild right oblique strain.
  • MIA Starting Pitcher #23
Max Meyer struck out seven over four innings on Friday for Triple-A Jacksonville.
It’s a bit perplexing that Miami is keeping Meyer in the minors as he continues to excel over his last handful of outings. There is no timetable for the 25-year-old righty to return to the big leagues as the Marlins’ front office clearly wants to limit his workload.
  • DET Relief Pitcher #7
Shelby Miller (elbow) tossed 1 1/3 scoreless innings on Friday in a minor league rehab appearance for Triple-A Toledo.
Miller gave up one hit and struck out a pair of batters in his latest rehab outing. The 33-year-old veteran reliever doesn’t appear to be far off from rejoining Detroit’s bullpen mix.
  • CWS Center Fielder #88
Luis Robert Jr. (hip) went 0-for-5 with two strikeouts on Friday in a minor league rehab contest for Triple-A Charlotte.
Robert has gone 1-for-12 with a home run in three games for Triple-A Charlotte on his rehab assignment. There’s optimism that he’ll be ready to return early next week, but he’s going to get a couple more minor-league games under his belt this weekend to continue knocking off the rust.
  • BAL Second Baseman #7
Orioles 2B/SS prospect Jackson Holliday went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI on Friday for Triple-A Norfolk.
Holliday is one of the few top fantasy prospects still healthy in the upper minors at the moment and he’s clearly benefitting from the extra seasoning in the upper minors following his early-season demotion, batting .263 with four homers and three steals in 30 games since April 27.
  • BAL Starting Pitcher
Orioles LHP prospect Cade Povich allowed six runs over three innings on Friday for Triple-A Norfolk.
Povich has been one of the early-season standouts in the International League and has generated plenty of buzz as a potential in-house replacement with both John Means (elbow) and Tyler Wells (elbow) heading for season-ending surgery.
