Mets recalled C Joe Hudson from Triple-A Syracuse.
Hudson gets the call to join New York’s active roster ahead of Friday’s series opener against the Cubs with backup catcher Luis Torrens away from the club on paternity leave. The 33-year-old journeyman backstop hasn’t appeared in the majors since the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign.

Liam Hicks went 2-for-4 with a pair of solo homers to lead the Marlins to a 4-1 win over the Mets on Saturday.
Hicks snapped a 14-game home run drought with a solo blast off Freddy Peralta in the third inning. He did it again in the fifth, leading off with his second homer off Peralta. The 26-year-old backstop continues to be one of the most valuable catchers, slashing .279/.339/.503 with 11 homers, 24 runs scored, and 44 RBI across 186 plate appearances.
'Continue to trust' Bichette after return to form
James Schiano unpacks Bo Bichette finally getting back to form over the last five games, explaining why both the New York Mets and fantasy managers can count on continued improvement from the seasoned veteran,
  • NYM 1st Baseman #27
Mark Vientos went 2-for-3 with one RBI against the Marlins on Saturday.
Vientos had the Mets only hit off of Max Meyer through seven innings on a base hit in the second inning. With a runner on in the ninth, he prevented the Mets from getting shut out, driving in a run with his second hit. The 26-year-old slugger is hitting .237/.277/.404 with six homers, 16 runs scored, and 23 RBI across 166 plate appearances. A 20.5 percent strikeout rate and 47.5 percent hard-hit rate are indicative of perhaps some better luck on the way at the plate for Vientos.

Max Meyer held the Mets scoreless over seven innings, striking out eight in a win on Saturday.
Meyer was dominant on Saturday, holding the Mets scoreless over seven frames. He allowed just one hit and walked three batters while generating 12 whiffs to strike out eight batters. The 27-year-old right-hander is now 5-0 on the season with a 2.52 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, and a 68/22 K/BB ratio across 60 2/3 innings. Meyer will look to continue the breakout campaign with another start against the Mets in New York on Friday.
  • NYM Starting Pitcher #51
Freddy Peralta surrendered four runs with nine strikeouts over seven innings in a loss against the Marlins on Saturday.
Peralta tossed a clean first inning, then gave up two runs on a walk and two hits in the second. Liam Hicks then took Peralta deep for a solo homer in the third. Hicks got to him again with another solo blast in the fifth. Peralta settled in to give the Mets two more scoreless innings, ending his day after seven with nine strikeouts. The 29-year-old right-hander will take a 3.52 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, and a 63/27 K/BB ratio across 61 1/3 innings into a rematch against the Marlins in New York on Friday.
  • KC Shortstop #7
Bobby Witt Jr. went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a stolen base in the Royals’ 5-0 win over the Mariners on Saturday.
Witt knocked a base hit in the first inning, stole third, then scored on a groundout. He then led off the third with a hit and crossed home again on a sacrifice fly. Witt has now collected 15 runs scored after only 10 through April. The 25-year-old star is hitting .298/.365/.473 with seven homers, 25 runs scored, 23 RBI, and 16 steals across 230 plate appearances.
  • SEA Right Fielder #20
Luke Raley went 3-for-3 against the Royals on Saturday.
Raley was one of the only bright spots in the Mariners lineup on Saturday as the team was shut out by Stephen Kolek. Raley had hits in every plate appearance, collecting three of the team’s four hits on the day, including a double. The 31-year-old slugger is hitting .276/.338/.567 with 10 homers, 19 runs scored, and 27 RBI across 140 plate appearances. He continues to see time on the strong side of a platoon in right field, though a .362 BABIP with a 34.3 percent strikeout rate suggests he’s been fortunate with his playing time so far.
  • KC Starting Pitcher #32
Stephen Kolek tossed a complete-game shutout with two strikeouts in a win over the Mariners on Saturday.
Kolek was outstanding against the Mariners on Saturday, tossing a complete-game shutout on his way to his third win. He scattered four hits and one walk, with just two runners reaching scoring position. Kolek collected only two strikeouts, but kept the Seattle lineup quiet by generating plenty of weak contact. The 29-year-old right-hander ends the day with a 2.77 ERA, 0.85 WHIP, and a 14/5 K/BB ratio across 26 innings. His spot in the rotation aligns with a start against the Rangers in Texas on Friday, though Cole Ragans (elbow), currently on a rehab assignment, is due back soon.
  • SEA Starting Pitcher #68
George Kirby allowed five runs -- three earned -- with three strikeouts over six innings in a loss against the Royals on Saturday.
Kirby labored through the first inning, giving up three runs, one earned, on three hits and an error. He stranded a runner in the second, then gave up another run on two hits and a sacrifice fly in the third. Kirby tossed two more scoreless innings, then gave up a fifth run on two hits in the sixth. He’d complete the frame and end his day at 92 pitches. He struck out three. Kirby hasn’t been as sharp of late. And his 26.1 percent strikeout rate in 2025 is looking like an outlier. The 28-year-old right-hander owns a 3.54 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, and a 55/16 K/BB ratio across 68 2/3 innings. He’ll look to get back on track against the Diamondbacks in Seattle on Friday.
  • MIA Relief Pitcher #30
Tyler Phillips will start Sunday’s game against the Mets.
Phillips has been outstanding out of the bullpen with a 1.27 ERA in 30 innings over 15 appearances, and Miami is going to give him a chance to help the rotation. The 28-year-old isn’t likely to get deep into contests in his first few attempts, but because of his success, he’s at least worth keeping an eye on.
  • WSH Starting Pitcher #27
Jake Irvin left Saturday’s game against the Braves with an apparent injury.
Irvin was dealing before exiting; throwing five no-hitting innings while issuing just a walk and striking out seven. The 29-year-old exited with a trainer, and there should be an update on the specifics of the injury before the end of Saturday’s game.
