Athletics recalled INF Tristan Gray from Triple-A Las Vegas.
Gray, claimed off waivers from the Marlins last week, will likely get some playing time at third base at Max Schuemann’s expense. The 28-year-old has hit .249/.322/.472 with 18 homers in 103 games in Triple-A this year.
  • ATL Center Fielder #23

Michael Harris II (quad) is back in the lineup at DH for Saturday’s game against the Phillies.
Harris returns to Atlanta’s lineup after coming off the bench to deliver a go-ahead two-run double during Friday’s contest. The 25-year-old center fielder has been dealing with a lingering quad issue recently, but it doesn’t appear to be a serious concern.
Who will play shortstop for Mets with Lindor hurt?
James Schiano talks about the "suddenly surging" Mets, analyzing how they will recover from "ironman" Francisco Lindor suffering a calf strain and sharing why New York is "in a bit of a pickle" at the shortstop position.
  • HOU Relief Pitcher #71
Josh Hader (biceps) faced hitters on Saturday in a 25-pitch bullpen session.
Hader progressed to facing hitters earlier this month and figures to be getting close to heading out on a minor league rehab assignment. The 32-year-old stopper has been on the shelf working his way back from a biceps issue and appears on track to make his season debut at some point in the second half of May. Enyel De Los Santos has stepped up as Houston’s closer of late in his absence.
  • PIT Relief Pitcher #64
Pirates recalled RHP Cam Sanders from Triple-A Indianapolis.
Sanders returns to the majors with starter Braxton Ashcraft away from the club on bereavement leave. The 29-year-old has been hit hard, allowing four runs and recording only one out in his lone appearance in the big leagues this season.
  • PIT Starting Pitcher #35
Pirates placed RHP Braxton Ashcraft on the bereavement list.
It’s unclear whether Ashcraft will return to take the ball on Monday against the Cardinals. The 26-year-old righty was outstanding in his previous start, allowing two runs over seven innings against the Rangers earlier this week.
  • HOU 3rd Baseman #15
Isaac Paredes is at third base and batting third on Saturday against the Yankees.
Paredes is batting third for the second straight contest with Jose Altuve in the cleanup spot and Christian Walker hitting fifth. It’s a bit of a new-look lineup for Astros manager Joe Espada after Paredes mostly hit fifth or lower over the first month. The 27-year-old is in a groove right now, hitting .240 (6-for-25) with two homers and four RBI over his last seven games.
  • TEX Right Fielder #4
Andrew McCutchen is at DH and batting second on Saturday against the Athletics.
McCutchen gets a chance to face Athletics lefty Jeffrey Springs on Saturday afternoon with Joc Pederson heading to the bench. The 39-year-old has played sparingly this season, hitting .242 (8-for-33) with one homer and five RBI in 17 games, mostly as a pinch-hitter.
  • ATH Catcher #23
Shea Langeliers is in the leadoff spot for Saturday’s game against the Rangers.
It appears to be a matchup-specific wrinkle with Langeliers moving up to the leadoff spot to face Rangers southpaw MacKenzie Gore. Nick Kurtz moves into the second spot in the order with Colby Thomas hitting third and Tyler Soderstrom in the cleanup spot. Lefty Carlos Cortes retreats to the bench following Friday’s two-homer effort.
  • SD Starting Pitcher
Lucas Giolito will make a minor league rehab start on Saturday for Low-A Lake Elsinore.
Giolito signed a one-year contract to bolster San Diego’s rotation earlier this week and is going to need a couple outings in the minors to build up his pitch count and stamina before making his season debut. The 31-year-old veteran languished on the open market all offseason before finally finding a suitable deal with the Padres. He’ll offer some appeal as a matchup-dependent streaming option in deeper mixed leagues once he’s ready to debut in mid-May.
  • KC 3rd Baseman #11
Maikel Garcia (elbow) remains out of the lineup for the second straight game on Saturday against the Angels.
Nick Loftin draws another start at the hot corner with Garcia getting some additional time off the rest and recover after making an early exit from Thursday’s game with right elbow soreness. The 26-year-old downplayed the severity of the issue while speaking with reporters, so it qualifies as a bit of a surprise to see him still on the shelf. There should be some additional clarity on his status later this weekend.
  • BOS 1st Baseman #40
Willson Contreras went 3-for-4 with a three-run homer and five RBI on Saturday, powering the Red Sox to a 17-1 blowout win over the Orioles.
Contreras collected a pair of RBI earlier in the contest before taking position player Weston Wilson deep for a garbage-time homer in the ninth inning. It counts all the same for fantasy managers, who certainly don’t mind a little stat-padding during the late stages of a one-sided affair. It was his fifth round-tripper of the season and second time he’s gone deep in the past week.
