After facing the minimum through three, Carmen Mlodzinski couldn’t survive the fourth Sunday against the Brewers, giving up five runs — four earned — before being pulled with two outs.
Mlodzinski gave up five hits, only two of which came on hard-hit balls, and he wasn’t helped by Joey Bart allowing Sal Frelick to reach on catcher’s interference. Mlodzinski also surrendered five runs last time out, so his ERA has jumped from 1.77 to 4.13 over the last week. He still hasn’t given up a homer this season and he’s fanned 30 in 28 1/3 innings, so he definitely deserves to keep his rotation spot. He’s an option in deeper leagues at home against the Reds next weekend.
