Oneil Cruz was scratched from the lineup for Monday’s game against the Cardinals.
No word on the reason for the move yet. Spencer Horwitz moves up to the leadoff spot with Jake Mangum taking over in center field.

Ryan Walker took the loss and gave up two earned runs in the top of the ninth in game one of a doubleheader against the Phillies on Thursday.
Robert Jr. placed on 10-day IL with back issues
James Schiano discusses Luis Robert Jr. making another trip to the injured list and what that means for the floundering Mets.
  • MIL Starting Pitcher #53
Brandon Woodruff left his start against the Diamondbacks on Thursday in the second inning.
He’d allowed one hit and struck out two before leaving. Woodruff showed an alarming amount of diminished velocity, with his four-seamer averaging just 85.4 mph while topping out at 86.9 mph. Manager Pat Murphy said that Woodruff wasn’t feeling any pain, but that getting him out of the game felt like the right move. If this dead arm sort of issue leads to an IL stint, hopefully it won’t be a long one.
  • ATH 3rd Baseman #77
Mets claimed 3B Andy Ibáñez off waivers from the Athletics.
Ibáñez, hitting .118/.167/.118 through his first 18 plate appearances of the season with the Athletics, will fit right in with the Mets.
  • DET 2nd Baseman #39
Tigers sent INF/OF Zach McKinstry (hip) on a rehab assignment to Single-A Lakeland.
McKinstry landed on the 10-day injured list on April 17, so he’ll be eligible to return whenever the Tigers decide he’s ready. The veteran utilityman was hitting .209/.261/.326 in his first 46 plate appearances of the season before the injury.
  • CLE Left Fielder #7
Guardians optioned OF George Valera to Triple-A Columbus.
Valera hadn’t started since April 25 and was hitting just .216/.237/.297 in 37 at-bats. Perhaps CJ Kayfus will get another opportunity here, or perhaps the Guardians simply will roll with Angel Martínez since he’s hot and add another bench player.
  • TOR Right Fielder #47
Addison Barger (ankle) could head for a rehab assignment this weekend.
Barger has been out since April 6 with a left ankle sprain. The Athletic’s Mitch Bannon believes Barger could return to the Jays at some point in the next week. The 26-year-old was off to a slow start before getting hurt, but could carve in to Jesús Sánchez’s playing time against right-handers when he returns.
  • BAL Left Fielder #13
Orioles GM Mike Elias said he’s not ready to announce rehab assignment dates for OF Heston Kjerstead (hamstring) but he feels like “it’s right around the corner.”
Kjerstad injured his hamstring towards the end of spring training and has been out ever since. Kjerstad really needs to hit the ground running and push his way into the conversation in Baltimore when he gets healthy, but it’s a fairly stacked outfield that has already pushed Colton Cowser to the brink of fantasy irrelevance. It’s hard to imagine Kjerstad having fantasy value in the near future.
  • PHI Left Fielder #16
The Athletic’s Matt Gelb writes that new Phillies manager Don Mattingly “seemed inclined to let [Brandon] Marsh” play more against left-handers.
Marsh has always been a platoon outfielder and has a .418 OPS against lefties this season, but Mattingly praised the quality of his at-bats. Marsh would get a little added fantasy value from playing every day, but of course if he’s not hitting against left-handers, it’s hard to pretend it’s a huge boost. Still, this is a situation worth monitoring and would point to Felix Reyes being mothballed. Reyes has started just two of the last six games.
  • PHI Relief Pitcher #59
Jhoan Duran (oblique) is throwing a bullpen session on Thursday.
The Phillies are “optimistic” about his progress per Matt The Athletic’s Matt Gelb. Duran is eligible to be activated, as he was placed on the list on April 15. It sounds like if he comes out of the bullpen session feeling good, Duran could be back in short order.
  • BOS 3rd Baseman #18
Red Sox optioned INF/OF Nate Eaton to Triple-A Worcester.
A memorable one-day stint on the roster. Eaton did not get into yesterday’s game against the Blue Jays and will head back to Worcester while the Red Sox try to figure out their rotation plans over the weekend. Chris Cotillo says Jake Bennett will likely grab the ball on Friday.
