Bo Nix completed 17-of-28 passes for 131 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in the Broncos’ 31-10, Week 1 loss to the Chiefs, adding two yards on three carries.

Nix and the rest of the Denver offense struggled throughout against Steve Spagnuolo’s Kansas City defense, gaining fewer yards as a team (176) than opposing running back Kenneth Walker (191). Things seemed to be clicking early after the Broncos were able to knot the game at seven in the first quarter, but quickly fell apart under unrelenting pressure. The poor offensive showing is sure to draw criticism in the media considering it was the first game called by first-time offensive coordinator Davis Webb after head coach Sean Payton relinquished play calling duties this offseason. Whether that setup continues remains to be seen and we wouldn’t be shocked if Webb failed to make it through the first six weeks still calling plays. The Broncos hold the league’s most difficult schedule through the first six weeks, with games against Jaguars, Rams, 49ers, Chargers, and Seahawks on the immediate horizon. Nix could regain form against the pass-funnel Jaguars in Week 2, where he will be a back-end QB1.
Moore returns from injury, should you start him?
Can DJ Moore turn around his season after notching just one reception in the month of October? Patrick Daugherty and Denny Carter are cautiously optimistic.

Per usual, Nix had a quiet day through the air, which is doubly true when you realize 52 of his yards and his lone touchdown came on an RJ Harvey screen. Nix struggled to get his deep ball going, missing several long shots that would have padded out an otherwise lacking box score. On the other hand, fantasy managers won’t be complaining after seeing his rushing line, which was largely the result of a 62-yard rushing touchdown late in the first half. Denver sent nearly all of their eligible pass catchers to the right side of the field, opening up a running lane big enough for at least one 18-wheeler. Facing a much stingier Chiefs defense in Week 8, we don’t expect another elite fantasy showing from Nix next week. He will be on the QB1/2 border for the AFC West showdown.

“He is going to become the byproduct of all the finer things that get improved. The improved play from our offensive line; the more efficient we are relative to downs; running the football. That’s our job as coaches here,” Payton said. Nix has been one of the worst quarterbacks in the league through six starts and Jay Glazer passed along word yesterday that Payton changed the terminology that OC Davis Webb had put in this offseason back to what it was last season, which apparently did not help Nix out. He’ll be hard to trust even with a slapdash Cardinals defense on tap for Week 7.

The Broncos managed just 168 yards of total offense on a night their defense carried them to victory in overtime. Nine of the Broncos’ 11 possessions, excluding the two kneel downs to end each half, ended in punts on drives that lasted five plays or fewer. Two second quarter touchdown drives had the Broncos playing with a lead for much of the game but they were otherwise unable to move the football with any consistency. An overtime interception by nickel corner Ja’Quan McMillian allowed for a game-winning, 53-yard field goal from kicker Will Lutz after the Broncos again failed to gain a first down. The win sends Denver to 4-2 while averaging only 18.7 points per game through six weeks. The team gets a scheduling gift with the Cardinals on deck in Week 7, although Nix cannot be treated as a starter-worthy fantasy asset outside of the deepest leagues.

Nix also added 10 yards on the ground on his four carries. He once again wasn’t able to get the ball downfield, with a long passing gain of 34 yards on a busted coverage. He was at least able to find Courtland Sutton for a short touchdown, but this was an ugly day for both signal-callers. Nix is no more than a QB2 for a matchup against the tough Seattle defense in Week 6, and it’s worth noting that game takes place Thursday night.

Nix’s play — including missing easy intermediate throws in the first half — left Broncos offensive coordinator Davis Webb without answers, a common theme so far this season. His lone touchdown came on a garbage time score to Jaylen Waddle. Nix was in check-down mode throughout the game against the Niners, finishing with a 4.9 aDOT. He was 5 percent under his expected completion rate, targeting his running backs 12 times. Until Webb and Sean Payton figure out the offense, Nix will be a superflex-only fantasy option without much of a weekly ceiling. He gets the Chargers in Week 5.

The Broncos were shut out in the first half amidst consistent struggles from Nix, who, for his part, turned in solid production in a third quarter that saw the Broncos knot the game at 16 through two touchdowns and successful two-point conversions. Nix and the Broncos would struggle to move the football again in the fourth quarter but a pick-six from safety Talanoa Hufanga gave them the lead with under five minutes to play. Stafford returned blows to send the Rams to a three-point lead before Nix’s game-winning score from one yard out. That final drive was aided by three key penalties to go against the Rams, the final of which was questionable, to put it kindly. Josh Wallace appeared to intercept Nix for the second time in the fourth quarter but a defensive pass interference penalty was called, giving the Broncos renewed life. Hufanga would intercept Stafford for a second time in the fourth quarter, this time in the end zone, to seal the victory for the Broncos as time expired. Nix and offensive coordinator Davis Webb have not looked good through three games despite the team’s 2-1 record, and will need to clean things up ahead of another NFC West showdown against the 49ers in Week 4. Nix is currently nothing more than a middling QB2.

It was an uneven day for Nix, who missed some routine throws and threw a bad pick in the end zone while targeting Courtland Sutton. He targeted Jaylen Waddle heavily and connected with Waddle for a 49-yard gain in the first half, regularly attacking the Jaguars secondary downfield. After taking far too many sacks in Week 1 against the Chiefs, Nix was not sacked against a solid Jaguars pass rush on Sunday. Nix’s lack of early-season rushing success has dinged his fantasy prospects a bit. He’s a fine superflex option for Week 3 against the Rams, however.

Nix during his postgame presser defended offensive play caller Davis Webb, who took over for head coach Sean Payton this offseason. “The players did not make it easy on [Webb] today,” said Nix, who completed 17-of-28 passes for 131 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in Monday night’s loss to Kansas City. “Pretty pitiful, actually.” Denver had the league’s second lowest drop back EPA of Week 1; only the Falcons were worse. Nix, meanwhile, ranked 28th out of 32 qualifying QBs in Week 1 accuracy. “We called exactly what we prepared for and what we wanted to get to and we just didn’t execute,” Nix said. “Then we were behind.” Webb and the Broncos will look to bounce back in Week 2 against a tough Jaguars defense.
  • DEN Quarterback #10
Nix looked mobile and eager to chuck it downfield. He even had a few overthrows, which we suppose is a good thing for a quarterback who spent the offseason rehabbing an ankle injury. The Broncos quarterback linked up with new WR Jaylen Waddle for a 35-yard gain down the seam and targeted WR Courtland Sutton a couple of times along the sideline. He found tonight’s starting RB RJ Harvey speeding down the right side of the field on a wheel route, and linked up with the second-year running back for a 21-yard touchdown to conclude the first drive. New OC Davis Webb regularly dialed up play action, which is great for fantasy purposes. Nix looks like a low-end QB1.

Payton said Nix’s health “looks really good.” Payton’s words come a week after Nix pledged to keep running this season despite his unfortunate injury. Considered something of a finished product upon being the No. 12 overall pick of the 2024 Draft, Nix took a decent sophomore step forward, and now has the best supporting cast of his career entering Year 3.

Tucker Kraft caught 6-of-6 targets for 53 yards with a touchdown in the Packers’ Week 8 win over the Panthers.

Kraft was able to bring in a score between a pair of defenders to give the Pack a 6-0 lead in the first quarter. That’s back-to-back games for the tight end with a score, and three in the first half of 2026. Kraft has seen a similar amount of involvement throughout the campaign, and he’ll likely put up a similar statline — hopefully with a touchdown for fantasy managers who roster him — in Week 9 versus the Patriots.

Christian Watson caught 8-of-10 targets for 113 yards in the Packers’ Week 8 win over the Panthers.

The fact that Watson was able to even play in the second half was incredible, as the 27-year-old was forced to be examined at the hospital following a chest injury. He didn’t do much after putting up 100 yards in the first half, but again, that’s not really the story here. Watson told reporters after the game that he was coughing up blood and suffered a fractured rib before returning. Assuming no setbacks, he’s a WR1 candidate for Week 9 against the Patriots, but keep in mind Christian Gonzalez — on top of this injury — can make things difficult.

Matthew Golden caught 7-of-13 targets for 79 yards and a touchdown in the Packers’ Week 8 win over the Panthers.

Golden is rarely boring, that’s for sure. He dropped two passes, and one of those was a wide-open touchdown in the second quarter. The good news for Golden, Jordan Love and fantasy managers was that he was wide open again on the next play, and he was able to bring that pass in. Golden’s athleticism and ability to get down field is unquestionable, but to say the efficiency isn’t there is an understatement. He’ll be back at it in Week 9 against the Patriots.

Jalen Coker caught 2-of-5 targets for 37 yards and a touchdown in the Panthers’ Week 8 loss to the Packers while also losing a fumble.

Coker’s fumble came on the last play of the game as the Panthers played pitchy woo woo in their attempt to tie the game. The 24-year-old didn’t have a catch in the first half, but salvaged his fantasy day — to a point, anyway — with a 26-yard touchdown from Bryce Young. The 24-year-old has just three catches over the last two games, and he’ll try and get things going against the Broncos in Week 9.

Tetairoa McMillan caught 6-of-11 targets for 57 yards in the Panthers’ Week 8 loss to the Packers.

McMillan had a long gain of just 14 yards, as Bryce Young just didn’t have time to get the ball down the field and wasn’t particularly accurate on the rare times he did. The wideout was targeted early and often, but it was an inefficient effort for the 23-year-old, at best. Even as the clear top option in this passing attack — all due respect to Jalen Coker — there’s a ton of volatility in McMillan’s fantasy profile, and that won’t change for Week 9 against the Broncos.

Chuba Hubbard rushed 22 times for 81 yards and a touchdown in the Panthers’ Week 8 loss to the Packers, adding five receptions for 38 yards.

Hubbard was easily the most effective offensive player for the Panthers, but that’s at least partially an insult to everyone else as much as it was compliment to him. The tailback was able to make the most of the limited rushing room, and with Bryce Young having zero time to throw the football, he was a frequent target of Young’s checkdowns. Trevor Etienne received just one carry for one yard, meanwhile. Hubbard’s usage makes him a high-end RB2 for Week 9 against the Broncos, even if it’s more floor than ceiling.

Josh Jacobs rushed 21 times for 39 yards and a touchdown in the Packers’ Week 8 win over the Panthers, adding six catches for 13 yards and another score.

Jacobs’ fantasy game was salvaged with two scores, but the tailback didn’t look particularly spry in the process. He had a long gain of just six, and there was almost no burst even against the porous Panthers’ run defense. He was involved in the passing game, but again, outside of his two-yard receiving score, there really wasn’t much there. It’s clear this is Jacobs’ backfield despite the scuffles, as MarShawn Lloyd had just three touches in the contest for seven yards. He’s a volatile low-end RB1 candidate for Week 9 against the Patriots.

Bryce Young completed 23-of-41 passes for 209 yards with a touchdown and an interceptions in the Panthers’ 27-19, Week 8 loss to the Packers.

Those who believe that sacks are a quarterback stat might change their mind watching the Panthers block Thursday night. The 25-year-old had no time to throw and couldn’t get out of the pocket while taking six sacks and being pressured on what seemed like every throw. That’s not to say that Young was completely a victim of his circumstance; he struggled with accuracy and couldn’t get the ball downfield in another ugly performance for the 25-year-old sans a 26-yard passing score to Jalen Coker in the middle of the fourth. Things won’t get any easier on paper in Week 9, as Young and the Panthers face the Broncos.

Jordan Love completed 30-of-41 passes for 288 yards with three touchdowns and an interception in the Packers’ 27-19, Week 8 win over the Panthers.

Love completed 17 of his first 20 passes, and two of those incompletions were drops. He threw a seed to Tucker Kraft for his first touchdown between defenders, found Matthew Golden wide open in the end zone for his second score — one play after Golden dropped a touchdown — and connected with Josh Jacobs for his third score of the day. The interception was a heinous decision where he didn’t see the safety, but outside of that, it was an impressive evening for the 27-year-old. Love gets zero, well, love from the run game and doesn’t have a quality offensive line, but he’s still putting up respectable numbers. He’ll look to add to those numbers in Week 9 against the Patriots in what should be a fun matchup.

Christian Watson (chest) returned to action in Week 8 against the Panthers in the third quarter.

Watson went to the hospital to have his chest injury examined, but obviously checked out well if the Packers were willing to reinsert him into a game where they were leading by two scores. It’s a sigh of relief for fantasy managers, as Watson has been sensational Thursday night with six catches for 100 yards in just one half thus far.
