Jets TE Mason Taylor (thumb) is practicing in full for Week 5 against the Browns.

Taylor’s return could be problematic for rookie TE Kenyon Sadiq. Sadiq posted a 7/105/1 receiving line two weeks ago before goose-egging last week. Taylor is not a serious receiving threat, but he can eat into Sadiq’s snap share. Sadiq likely remains a viable TE1, but his volatility just increased a tad.

A week after breaking out with 105 yards on seven catches against Detroit, Sadiq came up empty. He ran a route on 12 of the Jets’ 20 drop backs on a miserably low volume day for the New York offense. Sadiq split routes with Jeremy Ruckert, a less-than-bullish sign for the rookie’s involvement in the Jets offense moving forward. Sadiq will have some streaming appeal in Week 5 against the Browns if Mason Taylor remains sidelined.
  • NYJ Tight End #16
He did get in another limited session today, his third in a row, which would suggest he has a strong chance of playing. Sadiq will get a rankings boost with Breece Hall, Adonai Mitchell, and Mason Taylor all ruled out. He’s a fringe TE1, but one with an extremely high ceiling after last week’s 7/105/1 line.
  • NYJ Running Back #20
Hall was initially mentioned as being week-to-week when he was diagnosed with his quad injury, so he was never really considered a candidate to play in Week 4 despite the team waiting until the end of the week to rule him out. With Hall out, the Jets will look to Braelon Allen to handle most of the backfield duties. Allen will profile as a solid RB2 candidate with a chance for more upside in what could be a high-volume day against the Bears. In addition to Hall, the Jets also ruled out OG Dylan Parham (knee), TE Mason Taylor (thumb), and LB Kiko Mauigoa (quad) for Week 4.
  • NYJ Tight End #16
It seems like he’ll be trending towards playing in Week 4, though it would be nice to see a full session on Friday. Sadiq isn’t necessarily a must-play TE1, but with Adonai Mitchell and Mason Taylor trending towards not playing, the circumstances that created his 105-yard explosion in Week 3 are certainly in place for Week 4.
  • NYJ Tight End #85
Taylor was sidelined all of last week and, so far, all of this week with the thumb injury. He’d need to mount a major comeback on Friday to get on to the questionable line.
  • NYJ Tight End #16
We don’t know exactly what the issue is yet, but Sadiq hit the ground hard on his diving touchdown grab versus the Lions. He was slow to get up and grabbed his abdomen before slowly walking off the field. Sadiq eventually returned and was highly productive during the second half, so it doesn’t appear to be a major concern for Week 4. He is on the TE1/2 borderline, with both Mason Taylor and Adonai Mitchell looking unlikely to suit up this week.
  • NYJ Tight End #85
Taylor missed Week 3 with the thumb issue and is currently considered week-to-week. A DNP today puts him on the wrong side of questionable for Week 4. Assuming he is out, Kenyon Sadiq, coming off a breakout performance versus the Lions, will be in line for a larger role once again.
  • NYJ Tight End #16
With Mason Taylor and Adonai Mitchell out this week, Frank Reich treated Sadiq as his No. 2 receiver and the results were marvelous. Sadiq scored his first career receiving touchdown on a 24-yard diving grab into the end zone in the second quarter. He appeared to get banged up as he hit the ground and was slow to get up, but the first-round rookie eventually shook it off and remained productive in the second half. Sadiq’s role could take a hit if either Mitchell or Taylor is back next week, but it’s hard to imagine the team scaling things back all that much after this breakout performance. Sadiq will flirt with a TE1 ranking when he takes on the Bears in Week 4.
  • NYJ Tight End #85
Head coach Aaron Glenn said on Friday morning that Taylor would miss Sunday’s game after being sidelined in practice throughout the week. It was reported on Tuesday that Taylor would be week-to-week with his injury, so it isn’t all to surprising to learn that he will be sidelined for this one. Taylor has -2 yards on two receptions this season and wouldn’t have been on the fantasy radar even if he was active.
  • NYJ Tight End #85
He’s considered week-to-week and didn’t practice on either of the first two days of the week. Taylor will likely be ruled out on Friday, opening the door for Kenyon Sadiq to see a workload elevation against the Lions.

Cardinals RB Jeremiyah Love (ankle) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.

Love was listed as a limited practice participant after he tweaked his ankle in the Cardinals’ Week 4 loss to the Giants. Though he seemingly seized command of Arizona’s backfield in Week 3, Tyler Allgeier was heavily involved in Week 4 as Love hurt his ankle. He was already nursing his other ankle heading into the season and may see limited touches again with this latest tweak. Love is still trending to play Week 5 against the Lions but may sit back on the RB2/3 borderline as his ankle heals.

Seahawks RB George Holani (ribs) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.

Holani was listed as a limited practice participant due to a rib injury on Wednesday. The 26-year-old operated as a passing-down backup to Emanuel Wilson in Week 4 with Jadarian Price out. Unless he misses practice later this week, he is still on track to play in Week 5, though Holani does not have a large enough role to achieve fantasy relevance.

Broncos CB Patrick Surtain (ankle) did not participate in Wednesday’s practice.

Neither Surtain or Riley Moss (ribs) practiced on Wednesday. Head coach Sean Payton said the Broncos don’t anticipate placing Surtain on injured reserve. The injuries to both corners look to be shorter-term; Surtain is week-to-week while Moss’ return timeline is not disclosed yet. Both are on the wrong side of questionable for Week 5 against the Chargers.

Chargers OL Trevor Penning (concussion) did not participate in Wednesday’s practice.

Penning suffered a concussion in the Chargers’ Week 4 loss and is still in the protocol to start the week. Also not practicing was G Kayode Awosika, who has missed multiple games with a fibula injury. Both are in jeopardy of missing Week 5, dealing serious blow to Justin Herbert’s offensive line.

Chargers WR Quentin Johnston (chest) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.

In addition to Johnston, TE Charlie Kolar (forearm) and WR Brenen Thompson (quad) were also limited. Johnston has played in every game this season, but pops up on the practice report with a chest issue on Wednesday. He is not yet in danger of missing Week 5, barring setbacks later in the week. Neither Thompson nor Kolar have played since Week 2 but both have a chance to return this week against the Broncos. With Ladd McConkey (foot) not practicing, Johnston may have fantasy value as the Chargers’ No. 1 wideout this week.

Chargers WR Ladd McConkey (foot) did not participate in Wednesday’s practice.

Though head coach Jim Harbaugh ambiguously said we would get McConkey in practice, the 24-year-old is officially listed as a non-participant on Wednesday. Harbaugh also previously stated McConkey will be day-to-day after he re-aggravated the foot injury in Week 4. Ultimately, it’s unclear if McConkey will play this week given he generally pushes through injuries with little practice time, but a re-aggravation could lead to a game missed this time around. Stay tuned for practice reports later in the week to provide clarity on his Week 5 status.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Chargers OT Joe Alt (neck) is expected to miss Week 5 against the Broncos.

An already disappointing season continues to tumbler for the Chargers. LT Rashawn Slater (ankle) is already out this week and Alt will join him on the injury report. Neither starting tackle has been able to stay healthy over the course of their careers, making life difficult for QB Justin Herbert. Though Alt is expected to miss this week against the Broncos, Rapoport adds that there are “no plans” for him to go on injured reserve.

Seahawks RB Zach Charbonnet (knee) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.

Charbonnet is starting to ramp up to a return from his torn ACL last season. The Seahawks opened up his practice window and he was limited on Wednesday. He is already ruled out for Week 5, but a Week 6 return is not out of the picture just yet.

49ers EDGE Nick Bosa (knee/calf) did not participate in Wednesday’s practice.

Bosa has yet to return to practice since injuring his calf two weeks ago in practice. He is listed with both knee and calf injuries and is seemingly not close to returning to in-game action. Bosa will need to practice before we can consider him ready to go for Week 5 or beyond.

Texans EDGE Will Anderson (ankle) did not participate in Wednesday’s practice.

Anderson popped up on the injury report with an ankle issue to open the week. As one of the league’s elite pass-rushers, the 25-year-old is a key cog to the Texans defense. He did not practice Wednesday, putting his Week 5 status in jeopardy. Anderson still has chances to practice later this week and play against the Titans, but any time missed puts the 0-4 Texans in an even deeper hole.
