Saints selected Air Force DL Jordan Jackson with the No. 194 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Representing the military academies in this year’s draft, Jackson (6’5/285) was named second-team All-Mountain West for his efforts in 2021. In his final season with the Falcons, Jackson totaled 39 tackles, 11 tackles for a loss, and five sacks while leading a stout defensive front. A force to be reckoned with in run defense, PFF credited Jackson with 28 stops against the run, while his 34 QB hurries ranked second amongst all defensive tackles in the nation. Not quite large enough to be a two-gapper, Jackson has enough size and burst off the line to create problems for opposing linemen. He displayed good athleticism at Air Force’s pro day, posting a 9.14 relative athletic score and a 4.96 40. Jackson will likely be competing for a backup or practice squad role come training camp.
