Geiberger

Geiberger shot 67 in Round 2. He has yet to make a bogey after the first two rounds.

He made 6 birdies and no bogeys in the final round. He only made 2 bogeys all week. It’s Geiberger’s 2nd career win.

His one career win was at the 1999 Canon Greater Hartford Open.

He’s not playing well right now, so it’s hard to predict how he’ll play. We’d recommend going with a hot Robert Gamez instead this week.

Geiberger had an attack of vertigo during last week’s Turning Stone Resort Championship, which forced to withdraw the event. He has been replaced in the field by Robert Damron, who had a very nice T-8 at the Viking Classic last year.

Geiberger was 7-over-par after 16 holes when he withdrew. The reason later given for his withdrawal was a case of vertigo.

Geiberger posted a first-round 76 on Thursday, but chose not to continue (despite high scores from many in the field) and no immediate reason was given. This was only the fifth PGA Tour event for Geiberger in 2007 and he has made only one cut, a T-35 finish at the Mayakoba Golf Classic in Cancun.

Geiberger had played 11 holes of his second round and 2-under-par for the day when he pulled out. Stuck on Past Champion status, he doesn’t have any fantasy value anyway.

Geiberger has evolved into a duffer league’s delight. He had two birdies, two bogeys, a double and a triple, and that was just his opening nine! At least he’s off the injury list.

Well, he lasted for one round before going back on the injury list. Tour Officials said the reason for his withdrawal was a bad back.
