Jaren Jackson Jr. is the star rookie for the Memphis Grizzlies. He recorded a career-high seven blocks in his game on Sunday against the New York Knicks, and he should be on your Rookie of the Year board if he’s not already. The future is bright in Memphis, especially considering how well the team has played early in the year.
So how does Jackson get his blocks? According to a recent comment, Jackson credits his playing of the popular video game franchise NBA 2K19 with his ability to time his jumps.
Seriously.
“You get it from 2K. Not kidding,” smiled Jackson.

I credit NBA 2K for helping me get all Cs my freshman year of college. There’s peaks and valleys, is what I’m saying.
