LeBron was good for something in NYC: Knicks sell out season tickets

LeBron-a-palooza was still good for the Knicks in one way -- they have sold out their season ticket allotment.

That according to our man Darren Rovell at CNBC:

CNBC has learned that the Knicks have now started a waitlist after selling out its allotment of season tickets for this upcoming season. The last time the Knicks sold out its season tickets was for the 2001-02 season.

The team clearly benefited from the LeBron buzz, having sold more than 3,400 new season tickets before July 8, the night James made the announcement he was going to the Miami Heat.

But word of Amar’e Stoudemire’s signing a couple days earlier pushed the team over the 4,000 new season ticket mark and into a sellout, according to a Madison Square Garden spokesperson.

The Knicks might not actually suck next season. Amare Stoudemire is a good get and Raymond Felton knows how to run the offense better than Chris Duhon. Anthony Randolph could be a good get.

And more than even LeBron winning would really sell tickets in New York.
