The Bills have found a key assistant for new head coach Joe Brady.
Per Dianna Russini of TheAthletic.com, Buffalo is hiring Jeff Rodgers as special teams coordinator.
Rodgers, 48, is a longtime special teams coordinator and had been with the Cardinals since 2018. He served in the role under former head coaches Steve Wilks, Kliff Kingsbury, and Jonathan Gannon.
Rodgers has also been the special teams coordinator for the Panthers, Broncos, and Bears since 2010.
Rodgers replaces Chris Tabor, who signed on to become the Dolphins’ special teams coordinator after the Bills fired Sean McDermott earlier this month.
The Bills and Packers both need a quarterbacks coach.
Each team is going to take a look at a candidate from the NFC West.
Per Tom Pelissero of NFL Media, Buffalo and Green Bay have put in a request to interview Arizona pass game specialist Connor Senger for the role.
Senger, 30, has been with the Cardinals since 2022, serving in a few different roles. He was promoted to passing game specialist for the 2025 season after being assistant quarterbacks coach in 2024.
While the Bills are filling out Joe Brady’s first staff as head coach, the Packers need a QBs coach after Sean Mannion departed the franchise to become the Eagles offensive coordinator this week.
The Raiders aren’t the only team that will have a second interview with Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Kubiak will have a second interview with the Cardinals in addition to the Raiders. Kubiak is expected to land one of the two remaining openings.
Broncos pass game coordinator/quarterbacks coach Davis Webb withdrew his name from consideration for the Raiders’ head coaching job earlier today.
Kubiak is in his first season as the offensive coordinator for the Seahawks, after one season as offensive coordinator with the Saints.
He served as the offensive passing game specialist for the 49ers in 2023, after spending the 2022 season as the offensive passing game coordinator/quarterbacks coach for the Broncos.
Kubiak was with the Vikings for two different stints in three different jobs. He was Minnesota’s offensive coordinator in 2021, quarterbacks coach in 2019-20 and began his NFL career in 2013-14 as quality control/assistant wide receivers coach. From 2016-18, he was the Broncos’ offensive assistant/quarterbacks coach.
The Cowboys have hired Cardinals cornerbacks coach Ryan Smith, according to multiple reports.
Smith is at the team’s training facility today for a perfunctory meeting.
He spent three seasons with the Cardinals after spending the 2022 season in the same role at Northwestern.
The Cowboys also have in-person interviews with former Ravens defensive coordinator Zach Orr and Colorado defensive coordinator Robert Livingston, Todd Archer of ESPN reports. Livingston previously coached the safeties with the Bengals.
Orr previously interviewed for the team’s defensive coordinator position.
The Cardinals interviewed Ron Rivera in person for their head coaching job, Dianna Russini of TheAthletic.com reports.
The team is not announcing candidates it interviews for the job.
Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver, Patriots passing game coordinator Thomas Brown, Broncos defensive coordinator Vance Joseph, Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak, Rams offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur and Rams defensive coordinator Chris Shula are other candidates the team has interviewed.
Rivera currently serves as the General Manager for Cal football.
He was the head coach of the Panthers from 2011-19 and of the Commanders in 2020-23, with a 102-103-2 regular-season record and a 3-5 postseason record. His Panthers lost to the Broncos in Super Bowl 50.
