Once again, Matthew Stafford and Davante Adams have connected for a touchdown.
This one tied the contest between the Rams and Panthers at 14-14 in the second quarter.
After Los Angeles’ last two possessions ended with Stafford interceptions, the Rams went 64 yards in seven plays to get in the end zone for the score.
Stafford started the drive with a 27-yard pass to Xavier Smith, putting the Rams in Carolina territory.
L.A. faced just one third down on the possession, which Stafford converted by rolling to his right and finding Adams open in the end zone for a 7-yard score.
Adams has now caught a league-leading 14 touchdowns in 2025. That’s tied for the second-highest total of his career, which he reached in 2022 with Las Vegas when he also led the league in the category.
Matthew Stafford hadn’t thrown an interception since Week 3.
He’s now thrown two in his last three passing attempts, and his latest gave the Panthers a 14-7 lead.
Cornerback Mike Jackson had the second pick off of Stafford and returned it 48 yards down the sideline for a touchdown. It was Jackson’s third interception of the season and the first pick-six of his career.
Stafford previously threw his first interception in 10 weeks when a red-zone pass went off the helmet of defensive tackle Derrick Browns and into the hands of former Rams safety Nick Scott to end a scoring threat. It ended the longest streak in the NFL without an interception at 318 passing attempts.
The Panthers didn’t get off to a good start on special teams or defense, but it’s been all Carolina since Los Angeles’ first touchdown. Chuba Hubbard caught a 35-yard touchdown to cap the Panthers’ opening possession.
The Rams are now trailing for the first time since their Week 6 victory over Baltimore. The club started that game trailing 3-0 before winning 17-3.
The Panthers gave the Rams good field position to start Sunday’s contest and Los Angeles took full advantage of the opportunity.
Matthew Stafford and Davante Adams connected for a 4-yard touchdown to give the Rams an early 7-0 lead.
L.A. returner Ronnie Rivers brought the opening kickoff 46 yards back to the 50-yard line. But the Rams got another 15 from an unnecessary roughness penalty by linebacker Thomas Incoom.
From there, the Rams did not even face a first down on the way into the end zone. Stafford moved the chains with passes to Puka Nacua and Colby Parkinson. He then hit Adams for a 4-yard score on second-and-3.
That pass gave Stafford 28 consecutive touchdown passes without an interception, which sets a new NFL record, surpassing Tom Brady’s mark.
That could be the first of a couple significant historic marks for Stafford, who also came in needing just 154 yards to pass Matt Ryan on the league’s all-time list.
Amid his best season yet, Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford is climbing the list of the all-time greats, when it comes to the accumulation of passing yardage.
Stafford enters the Week 13 game against the Panthers only 153 yards from leapfrogging Matt Ryan for eighth on the all-time list.
Ryan had 62,792. Stafford has 62,639.
After Ryan, Stafford will have 648 yards to catch Philip Rivers for No. 7. And then it’s another 648 exactly to catch Ben Roethlisberger for No. 6.
Getting to No. 5 depends on how much longer Aaron Rodgers plays. He currently has 64,921.
It’s a long way to No. 4, where Brett Favre has 71,838. Stafford currently is 9,199 behind. It’ll take another two or three years to get there. Given the way Stafford is currently playing, it’s not a crazy proposition.
The Jaguars will be missing a key piece on their defensive line in Tennessee on Sunday.
Defensive tackle Arik Armstead will not play against the Titans. Armstead was listed as questionable because of a hand injury. Armstead has 23 tackles, 5.5 sacks and a forced fumble this season.
The Jaguars are 7-4 heading into Sunday’s game. A win and a Colts loss would draw them even in the AFC South ahead of a Week 14 matchup between the teams.
