The Dolphins announced the re-signings of linebacker Quinton Bell, defensive back Elijah Campbell, tackle Jackson Carman and wide receiver Dee Eskridge.
Bell has appeared in 27 career games with three starts in four seasons with Tampa Bay (2020), Atlanta (2022) and Miami (2023-24). He has recorded 26 tackles, a sack, one pass defensed and one forced fumble in his career.
He played all 17 games last season, recording 23 tackles, a sack, one pass defensed and one forced fumble.
Campbell has played four seasons with Miami, appearing in 55 games with three starts. He has totaled 24 tackles, two passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. He has also recorded 16 special teams tackles.
Campbell has appeared in 58 career NFL games, having also spent time with the Browns (2018) and the Jets (2020-21).
Carman played eight games with one start at right tackle in his first season with Miami in 2024 after being promoted from the practice squad. He has appeared in 30 career games, with seven starts, in four NFL seasons with Cincinnati (2021-23) and Miami (2024).
Eskridge appeared in six games last season after joining Miami’s practice squad on Aug. 29. Miami promoted him to the active roster on Oct. 25.
He made three receptions for 44 yards and added five kickoff returns for 146 yards (29.2 average) in his first season with the Dolphins. Eskridge is entering his fifth NFL season after also having spent time with Seattle (2021-23).
He has played 30 career games, totaling 20 receptions for 166 yards and one touchdown, while contributing 574 yards on 22 kickoff returns (26.1 average).
Linebacker Tyrel Dodson joined the Dolphins during the 2024 season and he’s set for a longer stay in Miami.
Dodson has agreed to terms on a new deal with the AFC East team. Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports reports that it is a two-year, $8.5 million deal.
The Dolphins claimed Dodson off of waivers from the Seahawks last November and he appeared in eight games for the team. He had started the first nine games of the year for Seattle and was the team’s leading tackler at the time he was cut loose.
Dodson signed with the Seahawks last year. He played 59 games and made 15 starts for the Bills over his first four professional seasons.
The Dolphins have agreed to terms with safety Ashtyn Davis on a one-year, $2.5 million deal with $3 million in incentives, Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports.
Davis, 28, entered the NFL as a third-round pick of the Jets in 2020. He spent his first five seasons with the Jets, who signed a one-year, $2.74 million contract with the team a year ago.
In 2024, Davis played 15 games with one start, seeing action on 261 defensive snaps and 283 on special teams. He totaled 35 tackles, two interceptions and two pass breakups.
In five seasons, Davis has played 69 games with 22 starts. He has recorded 175 tackles, eight interceptions, 15 passes defensed and three forced fumbles.
The NFL awarded a total of 35 compensatory selections to 15 teams in the 2025 draft, the league announced Tuesday.
The Vikings (97th overall), Dolphins (98th), Giants (99th), 49ers (100th), Rams (101st) and Lions (102nd) received third-round picks.
The Ravens, Cowboys and Dolphins received the most compensatory picks with four each, and the Chargers, 49ers and Seahawks each will have three additional selections.
The Bills, Browns, Chiefs and Raiders will get two compensatory picks each, and the Packers, Vikings and Giants will see an additional selection.
Under the rules for compensatory draft selections, a team losing more or better compensatory free agents (“CFA”) than it acquires in the previous year is eligible to receive compensatory draft picks.
The compensatory picks will be positioned within the third through seventh rounds based on the value of the compensatory free agents lost.
Compensatory free agents are determined by a formula based on salary, playing time and postseason honors. The formula was developed by the NFL Management Council.
In addition to 32 compensatory selections awarded under the net loss formula, a special compensatory selection was awarded to the 49ers, the Rams and the Lions under a 2020 amendment to the league’s Collective Bargaining Agreement. That agreement promotes equal employment opportunities and an inclusive workforce within NFL clubs, incentivizing teams to develop and promote minority talent for General Manager and head coach positions.
The following 2025 compensatory picks were awarded for the 2025 draft on April 24-26 in Green Bay:
