No one missed Lamar Jackson more than Mark Andrews.
Only 15:50 into Thursday Night Football, Andrews has two touchdowns to give the Ravens a 14-3 lead. His two touchdowns double his total for the season.
Jackson directed a seven-play, 75-yard drive after the Dolphins had a false start by Larry Borom on fourth-and-1 at the Baltimore 12 and then saw Riley Patterson miss a 35-yard field goal.
He threw a 35-yard pass to Isaiah Likely on third-and-4 to set up the 20-yard touchdown throw to Andrews, which came two plays later.
Andrews’ first touchdown tonight was 2 yards but came on fourth down.
Jackson is 5-of-7 for 74 yards and two touchdowns, and Andrews has two catches for 22 yards and two touchdowns.
Welcome back, Lamar Jackson.
Jackson returned to the starting lineup, and on his fourth pass, he threw his 11th touchdown pass of the season. The Ravens lead the Dolphins 7-3.
Alohi Gilman set up the four-play, 7-yard drive with a forced fumble, one Tahj Washington isn’t likely to forget. Washington caught his first career pass for 11 yards before fumbling. Gilman recovered it and went 8 yards to the Miami 7 before Washington tackled him.
Gilman is playing his third game for the Ravens since they traded with the Chargers.
It still took the Ravens some work to get into the end zone.
Derrick Henry gained 6 yards and lost a yard on the first two downs before Jackson threw incomplete. On fourth-and-goal from the 2, Jackson rolled right and found tight end Mark Andrews. Andrews now has three touchdowns for the season.
Jackson is playing his first game since Week 4.
He is 2-of-4 for 9 yards.
Dolphins edge rusher Bradley Chubb said earlier this week he would play tonight, and he will.
Despite being listed as questionable, Chubb is dressed.
He has four sacks, a fumble recovery and five tackles for loss after missing last season with a knee injury.
The Dolphins also will have wide receiver Dee Eskridge (shoulder) and safety Ifeatu Melifonwu (thumb). They, too, were questionable.
The team’s inactives are quarterback Quinn Ewers, running back Jaylen Wright, cornerback Juju Brents, safety Ashtyn Davis (quad), safety Jordan Colbert, defensive tackle Zeek Biggers and tight end Julian Hill (ankle). Ewers is the emergency third quarterback.
The Ravens’ seven inactives are all healthy scratches. Safety Sanoussi Kane, cornerback Jaire Alexander, offensive guard Emery Jones, offensive tackle Carson Vinson, wide receiver Devontez Walker, defensive tackle Aeneas Peebles and quarterback Cooper Rush will not play. Rush is the emergency third quarterback.
The Dolphins added a pair of cornerbacks to their roster for Thursday night’s game against the Ravens.
They announced that they have activated Jason Marshall from injured reserve and elevated Isaiah Johnson from the practice squad. Tight end Hayden Rucci has also been elevated for the game.
Marshall was a fifth-round pick this year and he’s missed the last five games with a hamstring injury. He had three tackles in his three appearances.
Johnson played on special teams in the Dolphins’ Week 6 loss to the Chargers and Rucci saw time on both offense and special teams in their win over the Falcons last Sunday.
The Ravens have made a pair of elevations for Thursday night’s matchup with the Dolphins.
Baltimore announced on Thursday that safety Keondre Jackson and defensive tackle Taven Bryan will be available from the practice squad for the Week 9 game.
Jackson has appeared in Baltimore’s last two games, playing exclusively on special teams. He’s recorded 29 total snaps with the unit, which amounts to 67 percent of the reps in games played.
Bryan was on the field for 22 defensive snaps and two special teams snaps last week in the win over the Bears. A first-round pick in 2018, Bryan has appeared in 114 career games with 46 starts.
