The Bills are looking to add some defensive help.

Via NFL Media, edge rusher Matthew Judon is taking a visit with Buffalo on Friday and the club intends to sign him to its practice squad.

Judon was released by the Dolphins earlier this week and cleared waivers.

In his 13 games with Miami this season, Judon registered 19 total tackles with one tackle for loss and three QB hits.

Last season with Atlanta, Judon totaled 5.5 sacks with seven tackles for loss and nine QB hits in 17 games with 15 starts.

The Patriots ruled one member of their defense out for Sunday night’s game against the Ravens and they’re listing four players as questionable to play.

Linebacker Robert Spillane is the player who has been ruled out. Spillane also missed last Sunday’s loss to the Bills with the ankle injury that has kept him out of practice this week.

Spillane has 97 tackles, two interceptions and a forced fumble in 13 starts this season.

Cornerbacks Carlton Davis (hip) and Marcus Jones (knee) are both considered questionable to play. Both players were on the field for the open portion of Friday’s practice after missing the first two sessions of the week.

Defensive tackle Christian Barmore (not injury related) and edge rusher Harold Landry (knee) are the other players carrying questionable tags into Week 16.

Sunday night’s game between the Patriots and Ravens has significant playoff implications for both teams, so there’s little need for other storylines involving past relationships between pivotal members of the two teams.

The game has one, though. Ravens running back Derrick Henry spent six years playing for Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel when both men were with the Titans and he ran for 8,268 yards and 80 touchdowns over their time together. That experience leaves Vrabel feeling prepared for what his team has in store for themselves this week.

“It is a huge challenge,” Vrabel said in a press conference this week, via a transcript from the team. “He’s a very unique player. Great speed, great power, strength. He’s just a different body type than what anybody would go against, and so it’s unique in that regard. They do a very nice job with their scheme, different personnel groups, different run plan and styles of run, and different run actions. So again, we know what he’s about. Build speed and stiff arm and all that other stuff.”

Vrabel called Henry “somebody that I really valued” while with the Titans and credited him with being a valuable part of the team’s success while they were there. Henry had similar praise for someone he called “a great coach” during his Thursday press conference, but those warm feelings will be set aside once Sunday’s game is underway.

The Patriots were down a couple of cornerbacks for the second straight day on Thursday.

Carlton Davis (hip) and Marcus Jones (knee) have both been out of practice both days this week. They join Christian Gonzalez as the top three corners for New England and Friday will bring word on their outlook for Sunday night’s game against the Ravens.

The defense was also without edge rusher Harold Landry (knee) and linebacker Robert Spillane (ankle), so Friday’s report will be a significant one on that side of the ball.

Defensive tackle Christian Barmore (non injury related) was a full participant in practice and linebacker Christian Elliss (illness) was limited again on Thursday.

The Ravens practiced without quarterback Lamar Jackson and linebacker Roquan Smith on Wednesday, but both were back on the field Thursday and the team’s injury report shows that they were full participants.

Jackson missed Wednesday with an illness and he’s missed practice time in previous weeks with knee, toe, and ankle issues. Smith is dealing with a knee injury.

The Ravens will issue injury designations for Sunday night’s game against the Patriots on Friday, but Jackson and Smith both appear to be on track to play.

Left tackle Ronnie Stanley (knee, ankle) and linebacker Kyle Van Noy (quad) also returned to practice, but they were listed as limited participants. Cornerback Chidobe Awuzie (foot), linebacker Teddye Buchanan (knee), and defensive tackle John Jenkins (illness) were out of practice Thursday.

Wide receiver Rashod Bateman (ankle), wide receiver Zay Flowers (neck), safety Keondre Jackson (ankle), and defensive tackle C.J. Okoye (quad) were full participants.
