Colts haven’t invited Griffin to Indy, yet

The next question in the wake of the news that Robert Griffin III is visiting the Redskins in the D.C. area is whether the Colts will also invite Griffin to Indianapolis for a no-workout pre-draft visit.

And then the next question would be whether Griffin would accept.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the Colts have not extended an invitation to Griffin for a pre-draft trip to Indy. Yet.

Griffin already has declined a request from the Colts to engage in a private workout. Griffin’s position that he won’t submit to a private workout for anyone helped take the sting out of the situation.

If Griffin is invited to Indy for some wining and dining -- and if he says no -- that’ll be the closest thing to a slap in the face to the Colts organization, given that Griffin accepted the invitation to visit the Redskins.

It’s believed that Griffin wants to play for the Redskins, but that Griffin wouldn’t make an overt power play aimed at forcing a trade, if drafted by the Colts.
