Sinkhole opens outside Titans’ stadium

A sinkhole estimated at 20 to 30 feet wide and 4 to 5 feet deep has opened just outside LP Field in Nashville, where the Tennessee Titans play.

The team says it has been working with local authorities to figure out how to fix the sinkhole, which is about 40 feet from the field.

“It’s been almost two months, since it showed itself and we’re working with Metro Water for some guidance on how to fix it,” Robbie Bohren, director of media relations for the Titans, told the Tennessean. “It’s not a hazard for fans coming to the stadium, and the sinkhole is not growing in size at this point, so it’s just a matter of finding a final resolution.”

The sinkhole is one of many that has been seen in Tennessee after the May flooding in the state. During that flooding LP Field sustained about $3 million in damage.
