Cam Ward’s first touchdown pass was the embodiment of, “No...no...no...yes!”

On third-and-goal from the 9 late in the second quarter, Ward took a shotgun snap, evaded one defender, rolled to his right, and just before he got hit, fired all the way across his body to fellow rookie Elic Ayomanor in the end zone.

It was one of those passes that makes you say, “No way,” when it’s thrown, but makes you a believer when it’s caught.

“That’s really the O-line giving me time, Elic just knowing what I like in scramble drill, then just executing and throwing the play,” Ward said of his first touchdown in his postgame press conference. “So, it’s exciting to throw my first touchdown. But I just wish we came out with the win.”

The Titans lost to the Rams 33-19 with a surge from Los Angeles in the second half that saw the club score 10 in the third quarter plus 13 more in the fourth to put the game away.

“I don’t think anything changed [in the second half],” Ward said. “I just think we’ve just got to continue to have urgency. I think at times it drops — and I think that’s the biggest thing, on offense, you have to have urgency every play. At the end of the day, we’ve got to stop shooting ourselves in the foot. My turnover, penalties … throughout the game on both sides of the ball. We’ve just got to lock in.”

Ward finished the contest 19-of-33 for 175 yards with a touchdown and his aforementioned lost fumble. The No. 1 overall pick and the Titans will host the division-rival Colts in Week 3.

The Titans played the Rams close in the first half of Sunday’s matchup, but Los Angeles got plenty of separation in the second half to defeat Tennessee 33-19.

Down 13-10 at the half, L.A. got a pair of touchdown passes from Matthew Stafford along with some solid defense to pull away and start the season 2-0.

Stafford’s 8-yard touchdown pass to tight end Davis Allen put the Rams up 20-16. The club scored again after Byron Young strip-sacked rookie QB Cam Ward with Nate Landman recovering the loose ball deep in Tennessee territory. Stafford connected with Davante Adams for the veteran receiver’s first touchdown with the Rams, a 16-yard score.

Blake Corum put the game firmly out of reach with his 1-yard touchdown with 6:45 left in the fourth quarter — the first TD of his career.

Stafford finished the game 22-of-33 for 298 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. Kyren Williams had 66 yards on 17 carries. Adams finished with 106 yards on six catches while Nacua had eight catches for 91 yards.

Nacua also had the game’s first points with a 45-yard touchdown run on a jet sweep in the first quarter.

Rookie No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward threw his first touchdown pass on a wild throw across his body to Elic Ayomanor. Ward ended the game 19-of-33 for 175 yards with one touchdown.

The Rams are now 2-0 for the first time since 2021 — the year they won Super Bowl LVI. They will be on the road to play the defending champion Eagles next week.

At 0-2, the Titans will host the division-rival Colts in Week 3.

Blake Corum has scored his first career touchdown.

Corum got in the end zone midway through the fourth quarter to give the Rams a 33-16 lead over the Titans.

Tennessee blocked the extra point.

Corum played a reserve role last season, recording 58 carries for 207 yards before suffering a fractured forearm in the last game of the season. He only had one carry last week but has been more involved against the Titans, rushing for 44 yards on five carries.

His TD came on a 1-yard carry.

On the other side, Titans guard Kevin Zeitler is questionable to return with an elbow injury. But given the score, it feels unlikely he‘ll be back in.

Davante Adams has scored his first points for the Rams.

Quarterback Matthew Stafford tossed a 16-yard touchdown to the veteran receiver in the fourth quarter to give Los Angeles a 27-16 lead over Tennessee.

Adams beat a defender 1-on-1 to the end zone. Stafford laid the ball up nicely for the receiver, who seemed to catch it with ease. Stafford had tried to hit Adams three times earlier in the game in the red zone for a touchdown but none of the passes connected. After getting hit, he was on the ground and the CBS broadcast showed him celebrating as if to say, “Finally” on the touchdown.

Adams now has six catches on 13 targets for 106 yards with his TD.

The Rams had gotten the ball off a fumble from rookie quarterback Cam Ward. Outside linebacker Byron Young strip-sacked the QB with linebacker Nate Landman picking it up for a takeaway.

It took a challenge from head coach Sean McVay, but the Rams have scored a red zone touchdown to go back on top of the Titans, 20-16.

Quarterback Matthew Stafford hit tight end Davis Allen with a short pass in the red zone, and Allen hit the pylon when going out of bounds for the score. The play was initially called short of the end zone, but McVay threw his challenge flag. With an expedited review during the commercial break, it was clear that Allen had scored.

It took the Rams just four plays to take the lead after Tennessee had gone up 16-13 with a 57-yard field goal from Joey Slye. Stafford connected with Puka Nacua for throws of 24 and 22 yards to begin the possession with Blake Corum taking it inside the 10 with a 15-yard run.

Stafford is now 17-of-26 for 212 yards with a touchdown and a pick.
