Multiplatform Sports Talk & Entertainment Program Re-Launches Tomorrow, Thursday, Aug. 8, Following Redskins Preseason Opener at Cleveland
BETHESDA, Md. – Aug. 7, 2019 – NBC Sports Washington (NBCSW) has announced the re-launch of D.C. Sports Live, its multiplatform sports talk and entertainment program, with new hosts Nick Ashooh, Wes Hall and Alexa Shaw. The new cast will debut Thursday, Aug. 8, following Redskins Postgame Live after the Redskins preseason opener at the Cleveland Browns (7:30 p.m.)
D.C. Sports Live, which launched in June 2018, delivers a high-personality, entertaining blend of debate and discussion focused on Washington, D.C., its teams and fans live each weeknight at 10 p.m., or following postgame coverage. D.C. Sports Live content will also be featured across NBCSW’s digital and social media platforms, highlighted by NBCSportsWashington.com and the MyTeams app.
Ashooh, along with Hall, served as co-host of NBC Sports Washington’s Wizards Outsiders during the 2018-19 season. For the past 2.5 years, he’s been a host and anchor on 106.7 the Fan. Previously, he spent eight years with The Team 980 as a host and production director. During that time, he also hosted a nationally syndicated program on FOX Sports Radio and was a sports anchor for SiriusXM.
In addition to Wizards Outsiders, Wes has served as a host, analyst and reporter for Monumental Sports Network, covering the Washington Wizards, Mystics and other teams. He’s also been a regular personality on WHUR (96.3 FM) and worked as a freelance host, emcee and voice artist for a variety of outlets. Prior to relocating to Washington, he spent several years in on-air roles in Los Angeles.
Alexa joins NBCSW from FOX Sports Southwest, where she has served as a sideline reporter for the WNBA’s Dallas Wings, high school football and other content. She also contributed to the network’s weekly high school sports show, High School Scoreboard Live. As a student at Texas Christian University, she worked as a reporter and host covering the Horned Frogs football team.
