The Bosnian playmaker, 26, has signed a five-year contract in Turin and has joined for a fee of $36.1 million
Pjanic has spent the last five seasons at Roma and has become a pivotal part of their team with many of Europe’s top clubs looking to sign the magician.
However, the Old Lady has won the race and in a statement on Juve’s website they announced the financial details of the deal.Juventus Football Club S.p.A. announces the agreement with the company A.S. Roma S.p.A. for the definitive acquisition of the registration rights of the player Miralem Pjanic against a consideration of € 32 million.
The economic and financial effects of the acquisition will be effective from the 2016-2017 football season. Juventus and the player have signed a five-year contract of employment.
With Juve winning four-straight Serie A titles and now getting stronger, the rest of Italy looks on enviously. So, where does Pjanic slot in?
He should become the point man and sit alongside Sami Khedira, just behind Paul Pogba. He is a smooth operator on the ball and is a true two-way midfielder.
With Claudio Marchisio suffering a serious knee injury and likely missing for the opening months of the 2016-17 Serie A campaign, Pjanic will become a pivotal figure in a stacked Juve midfield straight away.
However, one cannot overlook that Juve is splashing serious cash on a central midfielder. With rumors rife that Pogba could leave this summer for over $115 million as Manchester United, Chelsea, Spanish giants and Paris Saint-Germain line up, are Juve readying themselves for his departure? He’s not a direct replacement for Pogba but Pjanic would certainly soften the blow if the languid French international did leave Turin this summer.
