Doumbia moved to Roma from CSKA Moscow last January for $15 million, but struggled in Italy and was sent back on loan to Russia.

At CSKA, Doumbia has scored 66 goals in 108 league games. He is also a prolific scorer in the Champions League, grabbing 16 goals in 23 matches, including a tally against Manchester United earlier this season.

The 28-year-old Ivory Coast international has proven he can be a handful at CSKA, but his struggles at Roma must make you question whether he will be able to adapt to the Premier League and continue his scoring ways.

For Newcastle, Doumbia gives Steve McClaren another much-needed option at striker, as the club currently sits in the relegation zone two points below safety. Doumbia will join Aleksandar Mitrovic and Ayoze Perez on the front-line, and could become a hero on Tyneside if he keeps the Magpies up.
