Doumbia moved to Roma from CSKA Moscow last January for $15 million, but struggled in Italy and was sent back on loan to Russia.

For Newcastle, Doumbia gives Steve McClaren another much-needed option at striker, as the club currently sits in the relegation zone two points below safety. Doumbia will join Aleksandar Mitrovic and Ayoze Perez on the front-line, and could become a hero on Tyneside if he keeps the Magpies up.
