By Monday, Luis Suarez could be a Barcelona player.
According to various reports across the British media, the Spanish giants are set to tie up a deal with Liverpool for the Uruguayan forward in the next 48 hours that would make him the second-most expensive player in history after Gareth Bale.

Following Suarez’s third bite on an opposition player during his career at the 2014 World Cup, his four-month ban from any soccer related activity was deemed to be the final straw for Liverpool. After Suarez apologized for biting Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini in Uruguay’s 1-0 win over Italy, his acceptance has shown that he hasn’t learned from when he bit Branislav Ivanovic back in April 2013 and Otman Bakkal in 2010 when playing for Ajax in Holland.
After longing for a move away from Liverpool last summer, then sticking around to have one of the finest seasons any player has had in PL history, it seems like Suarez has finally got his wish.
Reports in the Daily Mail state that a deal for Suarez, 27, has now moved to straight-cash and after Liverpool and Barcelona officials met in London on Wednesday, the transfer is all but agreed.
FIFA have given the green-light for a move to go ahead, as there were initial fears that Suarez wouldn’t be able to complete a medical at Barca due to his ban from “all soccer related activity” for the next four months. However the reigning Premier League Player of the Year and top scorer, Suarez bagged 31 goals in 32 games last season, is all clear to make his long-awaited move to Spain as Liverpool finally offload his precocious talents.
Suarez, it seems, just has too much baggage and with a whopping $137 million, Liverpool would be able to splash the cash on at least two world-class replacements which they badly need in other areas. Of course they would replace Suarez, as Barca forward Alexis Sanchez is rumored to be heading to Anfield, as they’d lose their main goal threat heading into a season where they have UEFA Champions League soccer and another PL title race to look forward to.
Right now, it seems as though Liverpool’s fans should be saying their final farewells to Suarez.
Adios, Luiz.
