Michael Bradley will remain in Serie A, apparently, but has upgraded his Italian address. It’s like he’s moving from a small flat in Verona to a spacious apartment in a lovely Rome neighborhood.
Chievo Verona, where Bradley made such an impression last season, would only benefit by selling Bradley this summer. Waiting any longer would have seen Bradley switching without compensation for the smaller Italian club, so his departure in the just-opened transfer window was more or less inevitable.
His arrival at Roma, historically one of Serie A’s stronger sides, signals a real elevation in Bradley’s stock. Roma finished 7th of 20 teams last year, one spot out of the running for a place in Europa League competition.
