Supporters of the global game on our side of the Atlantic will mostly be interested in three types of transfer news over the coming weeks.

We’ll watch and wonder with the rest of the world as the biggest names change addresses. We’ll be extra curious about any performers moving from Latin America or Europe into Major League Soccer. And, of course, we’ll be watchful for U.S. national teamers on the move.

Looks like our first U.S. man is now in transit.

Michael Bradley will remain in Serie A, apparently, but has upgraded his Italian address. It’s like he’s moving from a small flat in Verona to a spacious apartment in a lovely Rome neighborhood.

MLSSoccer.com’s Greg Seltzer says AS Roma will soon complete a deal that includes the American midfielder.

Chievo Verona, where Bradley made such an impression last season, would only benefit by selling Bradley this summer. Waiting any longer would have seen Bradley switching without compensation for the smaller Italian club, so his departure in the just-opened transfer window was more or less inevitable.

His arrival at Roma, historically one of Serie A’s stronger sides, signals a real elevation in Bradley’s stock. Roma finished 7th of 20 teams last year, one spot out of the running for a place in Europa League competition.
