Emmet Sheehan recorded a career-high nine strikeouts and allowed one run over 4 2/3 innings on Thursday in a no-decision against the Giants.
Sheehan held San Francisco’s lineup hitless into the fifth inning before a hit batter and three consecutive walks wound up pushing a run across the plate and chasing him from the contest after 93 pitches (56 strikes). It wasn’t the most efficient outing as he wound up handing out four free passes, but he still managed to eclipse his previous career-high with nine punch outs in this one. He’ll most likely take the ball again on Tuesday in Coors Field, which is a far-less appealing setting for streaming purposes, especially in shallow mixed leagues.
