Kolten Wong has made the Dodgers’ NLDS roster.
It’ll be Wong getting the nod as a reserve infielder for the Dodgers over Amed Rosario, who was acquired at the trade deadline from the Guardians. The only other surprise here is that soft-tossing lefty Ryan Yarbrough and veteran reliever Yency Almonte have been left off in favor of rookies Emmet Sheehan and Michael Grove, who figure to pitch in long relief situations against Arizona.

Phillies transferred RHP Max Lazar to the 60-day injured list.
It’s merely a paperwork move to get catcher Garrett Stubbs back on Philadelphia’s 40-man roster. The 26-year-old reliever has been on the shelf recovering from an oblique strain since the end of spring training.
Giolito profiles as fantasy SP streamer with SD
Eric Samulski examines the ripple effects from Lucas Giolito signing with the Padres, sharing why the veteran starting pitcher shapes up as a fantasy streaming option.
  • STL Catcher #48
Iván Herrera went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to the Marlins on Wednesday.
It was Herrera’s third home run and 12th RBI of the season. The batting average hasn’t been there with a .230/.387/.379 slash line so far this season, but Herrera is hitting the ball as hard as he ever has and making more contact than ever with a nearly 95 percent zone contact rate. The production should come soon.
  • STL Starting Pitcher #62
Kyle Leahy allowed four runs on eight hits in five innings in a loss to the Marlins on Wednesday.
Leahy walked three, struck out two, and threw only 55 percent of his pitches for strikes while posting a nine percent swinging strike rate. The move to the rotation has not gone great for Leahy so far this season, but the Cardinals don’t have any starting pitching options knocking down the door in Triple-A. We would not recommend using Leahy in fantasy, even next week against the Pirates.
  • MIA Starting Pitcher #26
Janson Junk threw five shutout innings in a win over the Cardinals on Wednesday, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out two.
Junk was incredibly efficient, throwing 78 percent of his first pitches for strikes and piling up a 34 percent CSW. He leaned on his four-seamer more than usual in this one and got 17 percent whiffs on it despite it not having the usual vertical movement that we’ve seen this season. However, it was around the zone all day, and then he picked up whiffs with his changeup. This may have more to do with the offense he was facing than anything, but Junk has been solid this season and remains on the streamer radar. You just may want to avoid it next week against the Dodgers.
  • NYM Relief Pitcher #38
Mets manager Carlos Mendoza confirmed Devin Williams will remain the team’s closer.
Williams played a starring role during New York’s 12th consecutive loss on Tuesday night when he failed to record an out during an ugly meltdown against the Twins where he walked three batters and was charged with a pair of runs. The 31-year-old has struggled mightily in his Mets debut, compiling a bloated 9.95 ERA and 11/6 K/BB ratio across 6 1/3 innings over eight appearances. The hedge here for fantasy managers is to pick up Luke Weaver, who has plenty of closing experience, on the chance that he gets a look in the next save chance for the Mets.
  • HOU Left Fielder #44
Yordan Alvarez went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer Wednesday in the Astros’ 2-0 shutout of the Guardians.
Alvarez homered after Carlos Correa doubled to start the top of the first. He continued to hit from there, but he was pretty much the only one, as his teammates only had two more hits and the Guardians finished with five over the course of the afternoon. Alvarez did have a curious final at-bat, never leaving the box on a groundout down the first base line that he wrongly assumed was going foul. It could have easily hit the bag and bounced away, but Alvarez surely would have been out regardless. It’ll be forgiven, what with his 1.245 OPS and all, but it wasn’t a good look.
  • HOU Starting Pitcher #20
Peter Lambert struck out eight over six innings in in the Astros’ shutout of the Guardians on Wednesday.
Lambert had the Guardians befuddled in his second start as an Astro. He got 16 whiffs on 45 swings and allowed just three hard-hit balls. While he gave up four runs in his previous outing against St. Louis, he’s fanned eight in both of his starts, matching his career total of eight-strikeout games from his parts of four seasons with the Rockies. It still doesn’t seem like mixed league-quality stuff, but the Astros have been known to do more with less. Lambert will face the Orioles next week.
  • HOU Relief Pitcher #65
After giving up three runs and taking a loss on Tuesday, Enyel De Los Santos recorded a four-out save against the Guardians on Wednesday.
De Los Santos struck out Rhys Hoskins with one on to finish the eighth. The ninth should have been quick, but Jose Altuve couldn’t make a play on a grounder to his right. Bo Naylor walked to put the tying run on with two outs, but Brayan Rocchio then flew out to end the game. It’s the third save for De Los Santos, who has been competing with Bryan King for opportunities. As the righty of the two, he’s probably the better bet at the moment, though neither is a particularly appealing fantasy option.
  • CLE Starting Pitcher #28
Tanner Bibee took a tough loss after allowing two runs in six innings Wednesday against the Astros.
The Astros opened the top of the first with a Carlos Correa double and a Yordan Alvarez homer for what turned out to be the only runs in a 2-0 game. Bibee fell to 0-3, with the Guardians having scored a total of two runs in his losses. His ERA stands at 4.45, though eight of his 15 runs allowed came in one outing. He’ll pitch at home against the Rays next time out.
  • HOU 2nd Baseman #27
Jose Altuve went 0-for-4 to finish hitless in a three-game series against the Guardians.
Altuve had a lousy day defensively as well, committing one error and also then failing to handle another grounder in the ninth that was generously ruled a hit. The 0-for-14 series dropped Altuve’s average from .298 to .255 and his OPS from .880 to .762.
