Minter hits the injured list after exiting Saturday’s relief appearance against the Nationals with left triceps tightness. No word yet on how much time the 31-year-old southpaw is going to miss, but he’ll presumably undergo imaging this weekend to determine the severity of the injury. His absence is a hit to New York’s high-leverage depth.

It sounded like the original plan was to activate him Monday, but now Carpenter, on the IL with a strained shoulder, could rejoin the Tigers on Sunday. Gage Workman, Zack Short and Hao-Yu Lee are probably the candidates to be replaced on the Tigers’ roster. One will go for Carpenter, and another figures to exit to make room for Gleyber Torres sometime soon.

The Yankees did not replace him on the roster for Saturday’s game. Rosario figures to return Tuesday after the off day Monday.

Arenado is also likely sporting an elbow bruise after getting plunked as a pinch-hitter in Friday’s game. Nevertheless, he’s playing third base tonight.

Meckler put the Angels on top early, taking Drew Rasmussen deep with the bases loaded in the first inning for a grand slam. He later led off the fourth with a base hit and stole second before scoring on a double. The 26-year-old outfielder has been productive in his short stint with the Angels so far, hitting .308/.333/.538 with two homers, eight RBI, and two steals across 27 plate appearances. While he does have excellent contact skills, there’s not much in the batted ball data that points to any sustainable power potential.

Trout knocked a base hit and scored a run in the first inning, then took Casey Legumina deep for a solo homer in the fifth. He later drew a walk in the seventh, then walked and scored in the ninth. The 34-year-old star outfielder is slashing .241/.412/.498 with 14 homers, 45 runs scored, 31 RBI, and five steals across 262 plate appearances.

Díaz led off the bottom of the first inning with a solo homer off Reid Detmers, continuing his power binge after Friday’s two-homer contest. He later singled and scored in the fifth. The 34-year-old slugger is up to 11 homers and 37 RBI while hitting .317/.396/.538 across 227 plate appearances.

Detmers surrendered a leadoff homer to Yandy Díaz, then stranded the bases loaded in a 32-pitch first inning. He settled in for three scoreless frames before giving up two more runs in the fifth. Detmers would complete the inning and end his day at 92 pitches. He generated 13 whiffs to collect seven strikeouts. The 26-year-old left-hander will take a 4.63 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, and an 82/22 K/BB ratio across 68 innings into a start against the Dodgers at Dodger Stadium on Friday.

Consider him questionable for Sunday. Neto was injured today when Ian Seymour fell on him at home plate as he was trying to score on a wild pitch. Oswald Peraza replaced him at shortstop. Neto had played every inning of every game this season previously.

This one got away from Rasmussen early. After striking out the first batter of the game, he gave up a hit and two walks to load the bases. Wade Meckler followed with a grand slam. Rasmussen tossed two scoreless frames, then gave up one more run on two hits in the fourth. His day would be done after four innings at 71 pitches. He struck out four. The 30-year-old right-hander will take a 3.36 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, and a 55/12 K/BB ratio across 59 innings into a start against the Marlins in Miami on Friday.

Mangum took Bailey Ober deep in the second inning for a solo homer, his first of the season. He then singled in the fifth to drive in a run and added a hit, a stolen base, and a run scored in the seventh. The 30-year-old outfielder has seen sporadic playing time, starting three of the last seven games. He’s hitting .267/.339/.317 with one homer, 16 runs scored, eight RBI, and seven steals across 114 plate appearances.
