The trade was reported last night and is now official. The Mets are sending the Rangers $5 million to cover some of the $101.25 million Nimmo still has on his contract. While Semien’s offensive production has dipped in the last two years, underlying metrics (and a ballpark upgrade) suggest that he could still be a .250 hitter who has 20 home runs, 10-15 steals, and plays well above-average defense at second base. That last part is a key reason that the Mets acquired him, since they have been adamant that improving their team defense is a key focus for them this offseason.

The 32-year-old hurler was pulled during the second inning during Tuesday’s loss to the Nationals and clearly isn’t right at the moment. The Braves could opt to keep rookie JR Ritchie in their rotation while allowing López to work through his issues in the bullpen. If fantasy managers were planning on starting him or streaming him for his two starts next week, it doesn’t sound like he’s going to be making them.

The Dodgers had been hopeful that Smith would be able to return on Sunday, so this is at least mildly concerning. Dalton Rushing will once again start in his place behind the plate and will bat seventh against Cubs’ southpaw Shota Imanaga.

The Diamondbacks still believe that Perdomo won’t require an extended absence from the left ankle sprain that he sustained during Saturday’s game, but they’ll hold him out on Sunday as a precautionary measure. Jose Fernandez will make his first career start at shortstop in his place and will bat sixth against Padres’ right-hander Michael King.

That will open the 30-day rehab window for the 24-year-old hurler as he continues to work his way back from Tommy John surgery. Barring any setbacks along the way, he could be ready to join the Pirates’ rotation at the end of May. Inconsistency should be expected upon his eventual return, but Jones may be worth stashing now for fantasy managers in deeper leagues.

Yankees’ manager Aaron Boone told reporters on Sunday that they’ll make a decision on his status and whether or not he’ll require a trip to the injured list before Monday’s game. Ben Rice is serving as the Yankees’ designated hitter on Sunday with J.C. Escarra behind the dish for the Bombers against Astros’ right-hander Spencer Arrighetti.

Mariners’ skipper Dan Wilson told reporters before the game that the injury isn’t believed to be serious and that Naylor would be available to pinch-hit. Connor Joe will start in his place at first base and bat seventh against Cardinals’ right-hander Michael McGreevy on Sunday afternoon in St. Louis.

Adames has really struggled to start the 2026 season, slashing .207/.248/.378 with three homers, six RBI, zero stolen bases (in two attempts) and a 36/5 K/BB ratio across 117 plate appearances. Christian Koss will start in his place at shortstop and will bat eighth against Max Meyer and the Marlins on Sunday in San Francisco.

The 27-year-old hurler will take the place of the injured Connor Seabold (ankle) in the Tigers’ bullpen. Hanifee was off to an underwhelming start at Triple-A Toledo, posting a 4.91 ERA, 1.46 WHIP and a 12/5 K/BB ratio over 11 innings in his first 10 appearances.

Seabold suffered the injury when he slipped and fell on the mound while throwing a pitch during Saturday’s contest against the Reds. He’s not expected to miss much more than the minimum time on the injured list. Brenan Hanifee was recalled from Triple-A Toledo in a corresponding move to take his place in the Tigers’ bullpen.

If all goes well with that outing, it’s possible that Imai could be cleared to rejoin an Astros’ rotation that has been absolutely decimated by injuries this season. Prior to landing on the injured list, he had posted a troublesome 7.27 ERA, 2.08 WHIP and a 13/11 K/BB ratio over 8 2/3 innings in his first three starts for the Astros.
