The 41-year-old future Hall of Famer will need a couple weeks to ramp up his throwing program before he’s ready to jump back into Toronto’s rotation mix. He still offers some appeal as a matchup-dependent streamer in deeper fantasy leagues despite his advanced age and persistent durability concerns.

Caballero expressed confidence last week when he hit the injured list with a fractured finger that he would be ready to return in exactly 10 days, when first eligible. The 29-year-old shortstop appears on track to meeting that goal. However, it’ll depend whether he’s able to grip a bat and swing effectively whether he’s ready to return later this week.

New York has an opening in their rotation for Friday’s series opener against the division-rival Rays in Yankee Stadium after shipping rookie starter Elmer Rodríguez back to the minors. It’s hardly official yet, but Cole would be making his first start in the big leagues since Game 5 of the World Series back in 2024 after missing all of last year recovering from Tommy John surgery. He threw 86 pitches, while averaging 97 mph on his four-seam fastball, over 5 1/3 innings for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in his latest rehab outing last weekend. It certainly sounds like a strong possibility Cole returns later this week. He should be rostered in all fantasy leagues.

Phillies interim manager Don Mattingly told reporters Schwarber is under the weather and will get some time off to rest and recover. The 33-year-old slugger is arguably the hottest hitter in baseball right now after homering nine times in his last 10 games. He leads the majors with 20 big flies in 47 games. It doesn’t sound like a serious concern and fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day.

It’s the first tangible update the Marlins have provided since Snelling hit the injured list with a UCL sprain in his left elbow last week. The 22-year-old top pitching prospect will presumably meet with the renowned specialist to determine whether he’s dealing with ligament damage that will require a surgical procedure. It’s abundantly clear that Snelling is facing a lengthy absence, even if he manages to avoid elbow surgery. There should be a clearer picture regarding his next steps at some point in the coming days.
