Jerar Encarnacion blasted a three-run homer on Sunday, propelling the Giants to a lopsided 7-1 win over the Brewers in Cactus League play.
Encarnacion bolstered his chances of making San Francisco’s season-opening roster in a lefty-mashing bench role by clobbering a gargantuan 463-foot moonshot off Brewers southpaw Shane Drohan in the second inning. It was his second big fly of the spring. He still has some work to do to lock up a spot on the Giants’ roster over the final few days of camp, but he’s made a strong impression so far. His fantasy appeal is limited to NL-only formats as a cheap power source.

Aaron Judge is not in the Yankees’ lineup on Tuesday against the Guardians.
It’s a bit curious because the Yankees were off on Monday, but there’s no indication that the 34-year-old is dealing with any injury. The Yankees are likely just looking to give him a bit of an extra breather. Jose Caballero will start in right field and bat eighth on Tuesday with Amed Rosario off the paternity list and batting cleanup while playing third base.
Reynolds putting together a solid season
Bryan Reynolds has been heating up as of late, with the two-time All-Star proving he still has plenty left in the tank for the Pittsburgh Pirates.
  • KC Starting Pitcher #36
Bailey Falter cleared waivers and has been outrighted to Triple-A Omaha.
Falter has pitched just 9 2/3 innings for the Royals this season, allowing 15 runs on 24 hits while posting a 6/6 K/BB ratio. He’ll try to sort things out in the minor leagues.
  • KC Left Fielder #15
Royals claimed INF/OF Matthew Lugo off waivers from the Angels.
Lugo, a former second-round pick by the Red Sox back in 2019, was hitting .232/.243/.464 with four homers and nine RBI in 70 plate appearances over 31 games with the Angels this season. He can play all over the field and should provide organizational depth for the Royals at a few positions.
  • KC Relief Pitcher #34
Royals optioned RHP Eli Morgan to Triple-A Omaha.
Morgan had a solid first month of the MLB season, but he has struggled since being recalled from the minors for a second time. He now has a 5.51 ERA in 16 1/3 innings for the Royals this season. He’ll take some time in the minors to try to right the ship.
  • KC Relief Pitcher
Royals recalled RHP Beck Way from Triple-A Omaha
Way has had a solid season in Triple-A, posting a 4.50 ERA in 30 innings with a 42/10 K/BB ratio. He came over from the Yankees in 2022 as part of the Andrew Benintendi trade and will make his MLB debut if he gets into a game.
  • PHI Starting Pitcher #27
Phillies activated RHP Aaron Nola from the paternity list.
Nola will come off the paternity list and right into a start against the Padres, who he held to two runs in six innings on Wednesday. It has still been a season to forget for Nola so far, so we’d try not to start him in fantasy leagues for this one if possible.
  • BOS Center Fielder #3
Ceddanne Rafaela (back) is starting in center field and batting second against the Orioles on Tuesday.
Rafaela was scratched with lower back soreness on Sunday, but he wound up just missing one game and will be right back in the lineup.
  • WSH Relief Pitcher #55
Richard Lovelady will serve as an opener on Tuesday against the Marlins.
After pitching relatively well in his tenure with the Nationals, Lovelady has allowed three runs on five hits in one inning over his last two appearances. He can be dropped in most fantasy formats.
  • WSH Center Fielder #3
Dylan Crews is starting in right field and batting sixth against the Marlins on Tuesday.
Crews missed two games after being hit in the hand by a pitch, but he’s back in the lineup now. In 43 plate appearances in May, he’s gone just 9-for-41, but he has a 41.1 percent hard-hit rate, 86 percent zone contact rate, and solid exit velocities. His production should come around soon.
  • NYY 3rd Baseman #14
Yankees reinstated INF/OF Amed Rosario from the paternity list.
Rosario missed just two games and will come back in time for the Yankees to face left-hander Joey Cantillo. We’d expect Rosario to be in the lineup tonight.
