Khris Middleton amassed 35 points (10-of-17 FGs, 7-of-7 FTs), two rebounds, one assist, two steals and eight three-pointers in the win over the Grizzlies on Thursday.
The veteran forward stole the show against Memphis, needing only 25 minutes off the bench to set a new season-high in points. The near-40-point outing came on efficient shooting, with a spectacular three-point display the key to his success. Thursday marked the first time he’d reached 30 points in a regular-season game since the 2022-23 season, when he was still playing for the Bucks. Middleton has now logged back-to-back games of at least 15 points and will have a chance to land a third on Friday against the Cavaliers.

Amen Thompson finished Wednesday’s loss to the Lakers with 26 points (11-of-19 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs), 11 rebounds, four assists and two steals.
Thompson followed Monday’s double-double with another on Wednesday. He offered similar rebounding and assist numbers in both games against the Lakers, but was a better scorer in the rematch. He finished as one of two Houston players to score 20 or more points in Wednesday’s loss, and his 42 minutes marked a team high. Thompson’s workload and usage shouldn’t lessen in any way during the stretch of the regular season as the Rockets try to finish strong and avoid the Play-In Tournament. He’ll continue to be a great fantasy option on a nightly basis.
Highlights: Doncic's heroic performance vs. HOU
Luka Doncic powers the Lakers to a pivotal Western Conference win with a 40-point, 10-assist double-double against the Rockets.
  • HOU Center #28
Alperen Sengun added 27 points (10-of-15 FGs, 6-of-6 FTs), four rebounds, 10 assists, one steal and one three-pointer in Wednesday’s loss to the Lakers.
Sengun returned from a two-game absence and was, unsurprisingly, one of Houston’s most productive players on Wednesday. By way of efficient shooting, he led the Rockets in points, while finishing as the only player on Houston to reach double figures in assists. The double-double marked his sixth points-assists double-double of the season, which has been useful for a Rockets team lacking a natural point guard in the starting unit. Barring injuries, Sengun should remain one of Houston’s most reliable players and a triple-double threat each time he takes the floor.
  • HOU Forward #7
Kevin Durant totaled 18 points (7-of-11 FGs, 2-of-3 FTs), six rebounds, four assists, two steals and two three-pointers in Wednesday’s loss to the Lakers.
A game after being limited to 18 points, Durant landed an identical scoring total on Wednesday, but on even fewer shot attempts. The two-time Finals MVP shot the ball well in his limited looks at the rim and was more secure with the ball in this rematch than he was in the previous meeting. Nonetheless, Durant has had insignificant production in three of his last four games, which has come at an unideal time from a fantasy basketball standpoint. He’ll have a chance to get back on track Friday against the Hawks.
  • LAL Center #5
Deandre Ayton had 16 points (8-of-10 FGs), four rebounds, two assists and three blocks in Wednesday’s win over the Rockets.
Ayton saw more opportunities and landed more production in Wednesday’s rematch against the Rockets than in the previous matchup. He impacted the game on offense as an efficient scorer and was also big on defense with a trio of blocked shots. The former first-overall pick isn’t be relied upon as much on the offensive end as in previous years. Yet, he seems to have adjusted to his role and is succeeding under head coach JJ Redick. This hasn’t done Ayton any favors from a fantasy basketball standpoint, however.
  • LAL Forward #23
LeBron James added 30 points (13-of-14 FGs, 2-of-3 FTs), five rebounds, two assists, one steal, one block and two three-pointers in Wednesday’s win over the Rockets.
James went nearly perfect from the floor in his first 30-point outing since Jan 13. He missed only one shot in his 34 minutes, contributed as a rebounder, and was disruptive on the defensive end before the final horn sounded. The 23rd-year pro hasn’t had the same impact as a scorer this season as in years’ past. However, James showed on Wednesday that he’s still more than capable of going off on any given night. He’ll have a chance to score another 30-point game on Thursday against the Heat.
  • LAL Forward-Guard #77
Luka Dončić amassed 40 points (12-of-25 FGs, 9-of-14 FTs), 9 rebounds, 10 assists, one steal and seven three-pointers in the win over the Rockets on Wednesday.
Following his 36-point outing against the Rockets on Monday, Dončić outdid himself in Wednesday’s rematch. The superstar guard reached the 40-point mark for the 12th time this season and came up just one rebound shy of a triple-double. Dončić has been on an absolute tear of late, averaging 34.9 points across his 10 appearances in March. His production has helped the Lakers to seven consecutive wins and into third in the Western Conference standings.
  • DEN Guard #0
Christian Braun finished Wednesday’s loss to the Grizzlies with 26 points (11-of-19 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), seven rebounds, five assists, four steals and two three-pointers.
Braun logged his highest scoring performance of the season on Wednesday, finishing with 10 or more made field goals for the first time. His scoring came mostly from inside the arc, although a couple of made three-pointers helped him reach his new season-high. Yet, the versatile wing did more than just score; he was one of Denver’s top rebounders against Memphis, produced one of his highest assist totals, and also set a new season-high in steals. Braun’s balanced production was not rewarded with a win. However, his production may help some fantasy managers during the fantasy playoffs.
  • DEN Guard #27
Jamal Murray tallied 19 points (6-of-13 FGs, 5-of-5 FTs), eight rebounds, 12 assists and two three-pointers in Wednesday’s loss to the Grizzlies.
Murray logged 41 minutes on Wednesday and came close to logging his first triple-double of the season. He was particularly productive in the fourth quarter of this game, scoring seven points and dishing out six assists in an attempt to secure a second straight win. Instead, the Nuggets came up short and now find themselves just 2.5 games away from the seventh seed in the Western Conference. Murray and the Nuggets will have a chance to get back on track against the Raptors on Friday.
  • DEN Center #15
Nikola Jokić finished Wednesday’s loss to the Grizzlies with 29 points (11-of-19 FGs, 5-of-8 FTs), 14 rebounds, nine assists, one steal, three blocks and two three-pointers.
The three-time MVP had highs and lows in Wednesday’s loss. He scored the ball efficiently and produced well from both inside and outside the arc, while also finishing with a team-high in rebounds before coming up an assist shy of a triple-double. Yet, much of his production is overshadowed by how much he struggled to take care of the basketball. Jokić’s 10 turnovers marked a season high, and his three fourth-quarter giveaways marked a quarter of Denver’s 12 as a team in the closing period. The Nuggets find themselves dangerously close to the Play-In Tournament, which suggests Jokić could log heavy minutes down the stretch to help keep his team in the top six in the Western Conference.
  • MEM Forward #45
GG Jackson added 16 points (6-of-15 FGs, 3-of-6 FTs), six rebounds, two blocks and one three-pointer in Wednesday’s win over the Nuggets.
The third-year forward was one of six Memphis players to score in double figures on Wednesday. And although his scoring came on inefficient shooting, he came up big with nine points in the final frame to help the Grizzlies to a seven-point win. The late scoring also led Jackson to extend his streak of double-digit scoring games to 14, which he’ll have a chance to push to 15 games on Friday against the Celtics. His involvement shouldn’t change down the stretch of the regular season.
