Colts HC Shane Steichen said he doesn’t plan on limiting Anthony Richardson as a runner this season.
“We’re not gonna get away from that,” Steichen said when asked about the possibility of limiting Richardson as a runner. Last year’s season-ending shoulder injury, coupled with Richardson’s physical style of play, has led to many questions about his durability and how long he can hold up taking the level of punishment we saw last season. Richardson has made it known that he doesn’t plan on changing how he plays, and Steichen appears more than willing to use his quarterback’s greatest strength as often as he can. This should come as music to fantasy manager’s ears, as Richardson has the profile of an overall QB1 if he can put things together over the course of a full season. in the two full games he appeared in, Richardson averaged an impressive 27.4 fantasy points per game. It’s a small sample size, but it’s easy to see how high his fantasy ceiling can be if healthy.
