The younger brother, Luke, made his PGA TOUR debut last month with a missed cut at the Safeway Open. Since then, he’s competed on the GPro Tour and really turned some heads doing it. Schniederjans fired an 11-under 59 during day two of the Mimosa Challenge which took place two weeks ago. He ended up losing the event in a playoff. The younger Schniederjans reached as high as 65th in the World Amateur Golf Ranking during his time at Georgia Tech. He ended his career there with three individual wins and the third-lowest career scoring average in school history (behind Bryce Molder and his brother). His career-best WAGR rank of just 65th doesn’t inspire a lot of confidence when making the leap but those rankings don’t always translate apples to apples. Gamers should keep a close eye on the youngster.

The 24-year-old had it on cruise control today with eight birdies and an eagle while keeping a clean card throughout his round. He lapped the field as the closest competitor turned in a score that had three strokes more. Ban had a stellar career at UNLV but arrived with six straight missed cuts in OWGR events and a 1-for-4 record in PGA TOUR events. He reached as high as 9th in the World Amateur Golf Rankings during his time at UNLV. Others to play their way into this week’s Safeway Open included Andy Zhang (-7), MJ Daffue (-6), and Luke Schniederjans (-6). The latter two had to survive a 4-for-2 playoff with Brian Davis and Alex Lee falling short in that playoff.
